List of possible tips...please contribute

In Concierge there's also an assistant room steward. We always tip them.

I would imagine piano players, etc.
I've never seen anyone tip the piano player on DCL. On other lines, yes, there's been a tip bowl in various lounge venues with entertainers, but not on DCL.

Thanks for the assistant steward info. I haven't seen any of the entertainers tipped on any of our cruises, though.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

Musicians. We have tipped twice.

Interesting. I've known several of the musicians who perform in the lounges, on deck, at CC, or in the atrium, and I asked some about tips and their response was a bit of surprise and "of course not." I wonder if this happens more often than I've heard of (you're the first person I've heard say that). Thanks for posting that experience.

Anyone else have experience with tipping the musicians?

I don't know if they accept tips or not. I just figured that was who the previous poster was talking about. I don't spend any time in the sports bar as it's too loud and crowded, and I really don't like sports (or a goodly portion of sports fans, for that matter). I don't spend any time in La Piazza either because it's too much like I-95 in there with all the traffic. If the singer/guitar player is in the Cove I tend to go elsewhere too. I love live music, but it's usually far too loud for me to think when it's at the Cove.

I didn't see any tip jars on Princess last year, but then I probably wasn't paying any attention since the piano "bar" area was usually so packed I had to stand and listen for a while instead of sitting and having a drink.

Directly to them? Without asking? Or was there a tip jar/bowl? Only thing I've ever seen on the piano or music stand for other musicians were CDs you could purchase.
I just gave it. I never ask if someone can accept a tip. I just give it. If they don't want it, they can give it back. Once I gave $20 and the couple ended up sitting with us and during their break. I wasn't trying to get them to sit with us, lol.

The other time, my husband gave $5 to a guitar player and I said, "hurry, let's leave before he comes and sits with us," and we left right before his break.

Nice arrangement, but I thought the mandatory gratuity for all of this group was 15% not 18%.

Correct. Typo. Fixed. :)

Alcohol is 15%, but Spa IS 18% gratuity.

From DCL's site:
  • Prices are subject to change without notice. An 18% gratuity will be added automatically to all spa services. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Should all be reflected accurately, after fixing my typo for the second group.

Right, that's why my post only referenced the second group that was originally also showing 18%, a typo that the OP has now fixed.
