Lisa & Pete's DCL PJ & Trip Report - WEDDING VIDEO POSTED!!!

I don't think it will look funny at all to have a tropical bouquet and then a rose bouquet for your MK pictures. I think each bouquet is suited to its setting!

I agree!! Each setting is completely different in theming and scenery, so a different set of flowers is perfectly acceptable!

Can't wait!

It's good to hear that you've been able to find some ways to save. I know that was a big priority for me too.

I think the two bouquets won't matter. You want something that fits the setting best anyway. Plus, I myself viewed our MK pictures in a separate category from our wedding ones, so you can always think of it that way too :goodvibes

I don't think it's ridiculous you'll have 2 different bouquets. It's 2 different photo shoots, 2 diff. locations. Besides, it's more fun to have variety! And I think roses lend themselves to Walt Disney World (esp. MK) and tropical is more for the island anyway.

I am glad you're going through the Perfect Gift. As I was reading your post I kept thinking, "Why doesn't she just call The Perfect Gift like Betsy recommended?!!!" ;)

I think your different bouquets sound beautiful! I can't believe it's only 6 weeks away!!!

I think the idea of two bouquets for two totally different locales is actually a great idea! And you are going to love Shirley's work. We've ordered SOOOO many times from her and she was just so sweet and helpful and accommodateing. :thumbsup2

Six short weeks from today I will be married. I am starting to freak out. I have tons of emails with Cathy, my planner yesterday. She told me that DCL will be reviewing my file by as early as Thursday and I should have all the final paper work by next week. That is exciting and scary all at the same time.

Yesterday I got the paper work for our marriage license. We must have it notarized and mailed back ASAP. Thank goodness I work in a Law Firm full of notaries.

I have made some changes to my original plans.

Cake:

We are having the bottom layer Chocolate Cake with Chocolate mouse filling and the top layer is going to be White Cake with Strawberry Mouse filling. We are also having the Chocolate and Vanilla Sauces a la Palo to go with the cake.

Flowers:

The flower drama is ready to push me over the edge. Originally I was going to have matching bouquets for the wedding and the Magic Kingdom/Epcot photo shoots. When I contacted Disney for prices I was told it would be $100 upgrade charge for the bouquet for the wedding and $350.00 for a matching one for the photo shoot! Um...last time I checked i was not rich so I had to pass on the extra one. I ordered a matching one from Vicki at Peddles. www.peddles.com She has been more then wonderful and I highly recomend her to any Florida bride. The cost including delivery through Peddles for the same flowers is $150 less! She is also giving me sparkles on the roses. I had wanted my bouquet to look like Lynn's. It was full and round. I had sent pictures of Lynn's bouquet to both Peddles and Disney as a guide.

So fast forward to yesterday. I sent an email to Cathy about the bouquet Holder, It was a faux stem holder to make sure it would be included and I was told that would be an extra $65! So that would make my floral bill be:

$100 - Upgrade Charge for extra roses and stephonotis
$65 - Bouquet Holder
$18 - White Lily (hair flower)
$18 - Hot Pink Lily (Hair Flower)
$35 - Corsage for Mother of the groom
________
$236 Total

Now this $236 does not include the $200 for the Magic Kingdom/Epcot Photos.

I was fuming! There is no way I was going to pay $65 for plastic Stems or $18 a piece for $4 lilies. No way, no how! So I cancled all additional floral through Disney. I changed my bouquet to the tropical bouquet changing out the Orange Roses for Hot Pink ones and the Burgandy Cala Lilies for White ones. I did still get the bouquet upgraded for a cost of $50! I didn't want it to look dwarfed since I am a plus size gal.

I contact Shirley at The Perfect Gift www.theperfectgift.cc She does deliveries to the ship and also came highly recomended from another DCL Bride (Hi Betsy :wave2: ). Shirley is going to deliver to me the two lilies and the Mother of the Groom Corsage the day we set sail. Disney does charge her a $12.50 delivery fee which she charges to her customers. My total through The Perfect Gift is $54.50 including delivery. For the same three items through Disney it would have been $71.00. I did tell my planner how ridiculas I thought the pricing on the floral was when I cancled.

So do you guys think that it will look funny that I will have a tropical bouquet for the wedding on the islad and them a rose bouquet for the Magic Kingdom / Epcot pictures?

Not at all. The flowers that you picked are just perfect for each setting!!

Each set is going to be so pretty!!:flower3:

Hi Lisa,

I was wondering if you are planning to make welcome bags for your guests? I am booked for a Castaway wedding next August and I am wondering if it is possible and if you have any information.

Thanks!

Coming out of lurkdom to reassure you....

In my wedding pics I have two bouquets... a round brightly colored one for the pics b4, during, and after ceremony... Once we made it to the reception place... my photog noticed my bouquet was no where to be found... while people were looking for it the limo driver called to say it was on the front seat of the limo.... I didnt care and was fine with taking the pics without flowers... but someone went and stole my MOH's bouquet... which was a totally different stlye... no big deal... no one ever notices when they look at my pics... sometimes I notice and giggle...

6 years later (this Sunday) and everything is going magically.... :cloud9:

So, is everything all set now? What is the timeline for everything?

I'm so excited for you!! Almost time!!

27 Days Until My Wedding!!!

Hey Lisa!

I just popped on because I knew your wedding must be getting close. I see you guys have less than a month to go! It sounds like your plans are really rolling along now and everything looks great!

Once again, best wishes for a beautiful wedding and a life full of happiness together.

Lisa -yeah for getting so close!! So 10am ceremony?? then to Palo for cake? What are you doing for lunch? Are you all planning on eating together after?? Were you able to request your dinner rotation? Are you doing Palo for dinner??

Yup, 10:00am for the Ceremony, Palo for Cake and our First Dance, Faher Daughter Dance,Mother Son Dance.

Then we will Go around the ship for pictures while our guest go to the beach. We should be done pictures by 12:00pm - 12:30pm.

We plan on all eating lunch at Cookies on Castaway Cay. Probally the guests before us.

I requested to be in Tritons on Wedding day. I sent an email to my group contact at Disney. Our rotation should be Parrot Cay, Tritons (Pirate Night), Tritons (Semi Formal/Wedding Night), Animators Palate.

We did not want to do Palo for dinner any of the nights or the cruise because we want to spend as much time with our guests as posisble. We are going to do a Brunch at Palo the day at sea.

The Group Contact also sent me a sheet for the Seating Chart at Dinner. We will be sitting at the table with our parents and then I picked which friends got to sit together. Worked out good!

Oh a seating chart!!! That'd be a great option!! I'm trying to determine if I want Triton's or Animators Palate for dinner on VR day.

Are you doing pics on CC after the ceremony before you to got Palo?? I want to do that, but i don't want to leave the guests sitting in Palo waiting for us. Once you get back and tell us all about it ;) I'll decide if we'll do those pics before the ceremony.

I wish they did a Palo brunch on the 3 day.:headache:

How exciting Lisa! I love your luggae tags! You are so close!!!!

We are going to do pictures on Castaway Cay, but only for 20 mintues or so. It will give the guest time to wander back to the ship and make thier way to Palo, then we will show up - Dance - Cake Cut - Take a few pictures and let everyone get on with their beach day. I am going to get the extra hour of photography if I can take Shutters into selling me ONLY the CD and not a printed photography Package.

What an exciting update! Things are really coming together for you now! :cloud9:
