Lisa and Geoff's Castaway Cay DCL Dream Wedding PJ&TR 11-12-11

Wow MrsJoyD! You have my story almost completely! Does your DF live far away from you too? That would be weird! ;) It's my first and his second and we're getting married on CC. Your wedding is just one day past our 3 year anniversary and 1 year that he proposed. We wanted to do your cruise, but the cost was too high and it looks like you already got it! Congrats!!:bride:

Teaser Pic! This was taken in the atrium of the ship. It was all decorated for Christmas and was absolutely beautiful! I am hoping to get all of my pictures in the next week or so to be able to start my trip report. :)

Love the teaser picture!!! You look gorgeous!
I thought of you on the 12th...that was our Epcot day and the whole time I was telling my friends, "There's a Disbride getting married on the cruise line today"!

Can't wait to read about your trip!

I LOVE the top of your dress!!!

I can't wait to see the full length shot!!

I should be getting all of my pictures this week and then I will start my TR. I still have not come down off of Cloud 9! :cloud9:

So, I have started the name change process... The Social Security office was definitely an experience... Since I live in Orlando, I had to go the the SS Card center than many cities have that just deals with SS Cards. There was a line a mile long outside of the building when I drove into the parking lot. It took me about 40 minutes to get there from home so I decided no matter when I went it would take me forever!! There were no parking spaces to be found so after about 10 minutes, I drove up the street and parked at a CVS. I stood in the line outside for about 45 minutes while an elderly lady behind me said EVERYTHING that was on her mind. LOL- no filter, either! :rotfl: After getting inside the door, we were given numbers and then I waited for another hour and 15 minutes. Finally, when I got to the window, it took less than 5 minutes and I was on my way. I will get my new SS card with my new name in two weeks. I sure hope I never have to go there again!

Today, going to the DMV...they will give you a paper (you have to ask) to take with you since you will not have a SS card for 2 weeks.

DMV...in and out in 30 minutes! Very nice lady helped me! Now I can do all of the other little things. :)

Lisa,

I am so sorry that I never got a chance to see you on the ship. We went up to the bar in the funnel near the Edge one night and it blocked off for a wedding reception. I wondered if it was yours. Was it??

Hope your day was magical. The cruise was wonderful. The ship was a perfect backdrop. It was beautiful.

Your sneak peek is great. Can't wait to see the rest.

Good luck with all the name change stuff.

Hi! Our reception was in the D Lounge around 11 a.m. on Saturday the 12th. There were 2 weddings the day before while we were in Nassau but I didn't see either one of those brides either. I cannot tell you how absolutely perfect everything was...I am supposed to get all of my pictures back this weekend and then I will start my TR. He took tons of pictures so I will have a lot to choose from. :)

Lisa, How was the timing for the photography? Did the golf cart driver take you around the island for photos or did you go to the ship immediately? I'm so curious about how the photo stuff works when you bring your own photographer since I'm bringing my own. She's a friend and I'd feel bad about making her miss out on beach time with her family (and us miss out on beach time) to go back out off the ship to take pictures after the reception. I don't want to rush, but I don't want to miss CC either! Any good photo spots that you can recommend? Thanks! Can't wait to see your pictures!

I will go through all of that in specific detail when I do my trip report. My photographer took over 1400 pictures on the day of the wedding. I took him with me to meet with the wedding coordinator when we got on the ship. He went through what the day would look like and that helped a lot. After the ceremony they take everyone back to the ship except for you, your husband, and your photographer. You have about 15-20 minutes to take pictures and then you go back on the golf cart to the ship. We also took pictures on the ship after the ceremony. :) I am not lying when I say this was the wedding of my dreams. It was absolutely flawless and I got to enjoy the entire day...I didn't feel like I missed out on anything or felt stressed. It was PERFECT!

Yay! Congratulations! You will have a blast! I had the rose bouquet with ivory and orange roses. It far out surpassed what I thought it would look like. I was dead set on the tropical bouquet but worried it would have too much pink in it and the day my planning paperwork was due I changed to the roses. I have never seen any flowers from Disney that haven't been beautiful! What bouquet did you pick out? I am sure it will be gorgeous! :)

Congrats! You looked beautiful! Were you able to enjoy time with your guests and time alone once you were married?

Thank you! We had a wonderful time with the people that went on the cruise and we were all seated close to one another for dinner each night. Since our wedding was on the last day, we are going to do our Honeymoon during Spring Break since I really didn't want to take another week off from school.
