Dh would like to send some of his favorite Seltzer down to Florida. Can we pack a couple 6 packs in a box and count it as one piece of Luggage? We are traveling SW and there are four of us, we bring an extra suit case for the stollers and it would fit in very easily and is included in our luggage allowance (NOT CARRYON - I know that is not allowed), then we fill it with stuff we bought on the return. Will it explode, be allowed or be confiscated??
thanks

Please don't.

Many of us here have had clothes, or shoes, or documents, or other items ruined because someone else packed liquids in their suitcase which leaked. You may not consider your own items, but please do consider those of your fellow travellers.

You can order online, or visit a grocery store, or a Hess station, and find almost anything in Florida.

I completely understand about having a preference; I prefer German mineral water but the reality is that there isn't a Trader Joe's everywhere in America so I just deal with drinking something else.

You are assuming I do not, consider my own items, or anyone elses for that matter. This is not the case, or I would not be asking the question. Note my first reason was, "will it explode".

I am still interested in obtaining an answer to my question. If I am told that these items are allowed but likely to explode due to pressure changes etc, I assure you I will not bring them. :goodvibes

Okay, fine. These items are allowed but likely to explode due to pressure changes, careless or uninformed luggage handling/tossing/placement in the cargo hold, etc.

You can always ship it down to have it meet you there or use a grocery service in the area. Best of luck!

Have a magical vacation with your family :)

I agree with the others. You risk damage to the box and could cause problems for others luggage.

Baggage handlers are not known for being delicate.

Thanks for the responses, they are all great!
We get a rental car and last trip (sept-Oct) drove MANY miles and to many stores and there were no good options, (said LaCroix wasnt bad) Since DH has quit smoking and drinking beer, the least I can do is try to get some good seltzer to him during the SuperBowl :thumbsup2

So If I ship it, then it will not go in a plane?

I guess i thought either way it would be airbound, clearly I do not ship things very often. :confused3

I did ship a few things a few years ago and used a disboard list for the address and I know I had to use a specific service - I think it was UPS because the USPS didnt deliver to the resorts ????

could someone now help me with these details :goodvibes
