liquids in hand lugage

I have cream in a bottle 400ml- It is a prescription cream- and I have the script. As it is a prescription, can I keep it in the hand luggage bag (trying to keep weight of my check in down as 1 of 20kg case between 2 and I have to fit quite a lot of medicals supplies in it already).

You can but you have to declare it at all security checks.
Personally, I'd decant 100ml of it and then put the rest of it in the checked luggage.

Hmm, I'm not sure. We were told everything over 100ml was a no no.

I agree with the PP, I'd decant it into a smaller container (or go to your GP and ask for a smaller prescription for the plane?) presumably you don't need the full 400 mils for the plane, so they may question why you didn't just bring the lowest amount you needed, if you see what I mean.

I don't really need on the plane, but my luggage is alreay at 20kg. Good odea about the smaller bottles, I think I will just fill up a few so that we can alll take 1 each as hand luggage. I thought I'd just check out before I bought the bottle (400ml) is the smallest available)

It would be much, much less hassle for you to fill up 4 x 100ml containers.
Be aware of the weight restrictions on hand luggage too. We have seen them enforced.
