Lipoa at 'Ohana?

Does anyone know if her usual days off are still Sunday and Monday? We make our ADRs on Tuesday. 'Ohana (with Lipoa) is at the top of DD's list. With ADRs being so difficult to get there lately I want to be flexible with our days. However, when we were there in January she wasn't there and DD 6 nearly cried. She LOVES Lipoa.

We still enjoyed our meal, and the gentleman playing the ukulele was nice, still, it just wasn't the same without Lipoa. DD was bummed about it.

This time I'd like to better my chances of catching her by not booking one of her usual days off. At the time we were told that was Sunday and Monday.

I can confirm that Lipoa wasn't at Ohana Sunday May 31st, so I would think it is a safe bet that Sunday is one of her days off.

We are right there with you on thinking Lipoa is a not-to-be-missed Disney character!

That said, we have always gone on Tuesdays and seen her there....I have no idea of her schedule though.

I got an ADR for a Wednesday. I sure hope she's there!

Oh no! I'm officially bummed! She is my dd7 fav.
I have a ressie aug.16 and that is a sun. I had no idea she was off on Sun.
We normally go much later in the week.

Does anyone know if they still do coconut races and other activities without her there?

I'm curious as to what this CM's story is. It seems that she's been at the Polynesian "forever" but maybe I'm misremembering. Also, I thought at one point she was laid off and then they rehired her? I thought I remembered reading this on the Dis at one point and then when we were at Ohana a few weeks back I overheard her telling a story like that to some longtime returning guests whom she was friends with.

Anyone have more details?

I've never been to Ohana before but we will be there on a Tuesday, so it sounds like this Lipoa person may be there. I'm excited, I think, but can anyone tell me why? Who is she and what does she do that makes her so great?

The last time we were there, instead of Lipoa, there was a gentleman who played the ukulele. They still did the coconut races, but not the hula or the limbo. He seemed like a nice man, and I *think* I might have seen him playing in the lobby before. But Lipoa is so much more outgoing, really gets everyone into things. My DD just absolutely LOVES her. Plus, we missed having all three activities happen instead of just the one.
