Linking reservations?

I booked two rooms, one for my son and I, one for my mother. I've paid for both, they're both under my email address and I have them both listed when I got to "My Cruise Reservations" on the DCL website.

Does that automatically make us linked? Do I note it somewhere that we're traveling together and therefore want to sit together? If so, where?

Also, when it comes to booking things - my son and I are Silver, my mom is a newbie. I know I have to wait longer to book her things, but do I just book them like they're separate or do I somehow add her to our things? Particularly were on one of the Bahama's out of NYC cruises to Disney World and I'm wondering about booking bus transportation to the parks. Is it best to book my son and I and then change us if we need to, or just book us all when her window opens?

Thanks!

I believe you need to actually call DCL and tell them to link the reservations.

Once linked, you will be seated together for dinner.

When her window opens, you book her like she's a separate reservation. Hopefully, there will still be openings on the same excursions that you've already booked. Or you can wait until her window opens and book everyone then on whatever's available.

There's an easy way to avoid that - put your son in her room. The cost will be the same, and her room will now also be Silver. You son doesn't have to actually sleep in grandma's room, but would be required to attend the muster drill for that room.
