Linking Additional Reservation to MDE For Same Travel Dates

My apologies if this is a really bizarre question.

I currently have a package booked through a TA for our upcoming April trip and it is linked in MDE. However, we want to change resorts and I would prefer just to book straight through Disney versus the TA. The TA would not be able to cancel my reservation until tomorrow. Is it possible for me to book the other hotel and tickets straight through Disney tonight? That would give me 2 package reservations for the same dates. The only reason I am impatient is I don't want the room availability to slip away on Disney. Just seeing if this is possible or would I really hose things up?
