Linked reservations ?

If I make two back-to-back reservations using different contracts (with different use years) but link them, will I have to check out and then check in again? I know I've done this before, but I can't remember the process...

Over the Christmas holiday I had a points reservation linked to a 1 night cash reservation and I did not have to check out/in again. I guess because I had the credit card on file for express check out maybe?

If you link them, it will be considered one reservation.

I've done linked reservations and it looks just like one reservation, including housekeeping. One time I did member cash Fri & Sat and then points Sun-Thurs, linked reservation. Our trash & towel was Monday.
