A few weeks/months ago, I think it was this forum, something posted a link for a site that sells some sort of iron-on patches for the inside of your shorts, to help them from "riding up" or chafing from walking a lot. Does anyone know what thread I'm talking about?? Help!!

I think I posted what you are looking for. They are online and the website is called noriders.com The patches are great. You iron them on the inside of your seam to keep your shorts from creeping up in the middle. You can buy patches or one's that you sew in. They are inexpensive.

thank you! yes, that's exactly it. I couldn't remember the website to save my life.

I am very interested in these also as I always have this problem! I went to the website and watched the videos but I can't figure out how an extra piece of fabric stops them from riding up? Is it the weight of the fabric? I will probably order some and try it but I can't figure it out. I've also tried searching on Google for customer reviews and nothing comes up, so I would love to hear from someone who's tried them!

This sounds interesting. I wonder if it really works, if it does I would love it!

I bought them and I recommend buying the iron on/sew in ones rather than the ones with the sticky strip (double sided tape). They really worked! It's basically a little strip of plastic that you sew into your inside seams of your shorts and then iron on a patch over it.

I happened to order the sticky kind and ordered them very last minute. I got them the day before my trip and didn't have time to iron on the patches. I just stuck the plastic inside the seams and went with my shorts like that. They lasted for the trip - but I was so tired when I got home - I didn't think about them at all when I got home and threw all my shorts in the washer and dryer. Needless to say the sticky stuff came off and the little plastic strips were all over my dryer. Don't let this turn you off though because I did it totally wrong!

They did keep the inside part of my shorts straight so they didn't ride up. I used all different sizes and didn't have any problems with chafing. I didn't even notice that they were in my shorts - they didn't stab me or poke me at all, even without the fabric patch. I think as long as you follow the directions you shouldn't have any problems, in fact I plan on ordering another set to do correctly this time!

I think I understand how they work now...so its more like a hard piece of plastic than a piece of fabric. From the videos, it looks like its made of only fabric. I'm going to be ordering some to try them out for sure!

I don't know if you sew, but "boning" may work the same.

Ok I just got the joke, but honest, that's what the stuff is called http://www.joann.com/joann/shop/shop_tszoom.jsp?path=http://www.joann.com/images/10/90/2/109025_p.jpg

This sounds great but I use a product called Glide. It is shaped like a deodorant stick solid and you just rub it on where your skin tends to get chafed. I have not had any problems since using it. It's wonderful.

Are your shorts maybe just not the right size? I've never heard of putting something like that in pants.

this product works great. We always take it with us to WDW. I think we got ours at REI.

Body Glide has been a life saver for us--works super for preventing blisters on feet as well! I think we got ours at Dick's Sporting Goods and I think I've seen it at CVS.
