Linguistic Expert Needed

I feel that there is a language exam attached to DIS, what with all the abbreviations used by posters.
Is there a list of abbreviations and their meanings?
If not, how is one supposed to know what people are talking about when they use BWV, SAB, DH (I think this might mean "Dear [or Darn] Hubby") DD, DS, BCV and others?
All suggestions gratefully accepted.
