I have not had the food at the Norway Pavilion but I did just get back from Sweden so I think that I can comment on this. Lingonberry is probably most comparable to cranberry but that's mainly in color and shape (I believe they might be relatives). Lingonberries are much smaller though and they have a distinct flavor all their own. I would not rule out Lingon if you don't like cranberries, they are quite different in flavor (I believe the Lingon is sweeter but it's more than just that...). Often, lingon silt (preserves) is served with Swedish meatballs and they bring an amazing flavor to the meal.
I would definitely give anything with the lingon a try. You¡¦ll probably like it.
I haven't had it in Norway either -- but they serve lingon berries at Ikea with the Swedish meatballs -- and it is delicious. They also serve a lingon berry soda that is very good, too. If I found someting like that in Norway, I'd gladly order it!
