What are the lines like for Mission:Space? How long are Standby, FP return and single rider lines most days? Are weekends worse?

Are Fast Passes gone early in the day?

Anyone baby swap it yet? How does that work? Is there someplace good (read air conditioned) for the 'other' parent to wait with too small or too scared kiddos?

Thanks! Just trying to plan a good time to experience this ride during our September trip!

As far as I know the ride does not officially open until Aug 15th, however on 7/31 it was open for "preview" and my husband & 2 boys walked right on it. They really liked it.

Then on 8/2, when we went back for my oldest to try it, it was only open for AP holders. He was pretty bummed.

When we were there in late July, the ride opened at 1:00 and by 2:30 the standby line was a 45 minute wait. We got fast passes for 4:05 so it wasn't too bad. I don't know about the baby swap or a single rider line.

We were there on Thursday. We got there before 9:00 and did our slow walk to TT to find the standby line wait to be 30 minutes already. So I went to get FP. Each of four TT fastpasses I got came with an extra piece that said "surprise fastpass for Mission: Space, good anytime before 10:00 am today." So DH and DS8 went to the MS fastpass line right away and rode it with no wait. DH told me, though, that the standby line and FP line were both very short.

I have a feeling that once Mission: Space is officially open, the lines will be similar to Test Track.

I rode it twice in late July. Once for FP and the other juts stand by.

The stand by wasn't that long actually it was about 25 to 30 minutes long.

Then we did Fast Pass wasn't long maybe like a 5minute wait.

Just got back and rode Mission:Space twice. The ride is awesome! It is not the best thrill ride I have ever been on, but when you add in the story and theming it is a great ride. There was basically no wait at all, but I think that was because most people didn't know that it was open. It is not on the maps yet, and there are no signs for it. The only reason that we knew it was open was because when I got my fastpasses for Test Track it printed out a second part saying that we could get another fastpass immediately for Mission:Space (which we did). The fastpass that we got was for 45 min after we got it (1155-1255 return time). Then we went on it later (about 1500) and the sign said it was a 20 min wait but we got on in 5 min.

They must have just added it to the maps and times guide because when I was there on 8/9 all the map showed was "future site of Mission:Space" or something like that and it was not on the times guide.

My wife and I went on Mission: Space on 8/6. We had stayed away from Epcot before that due to the AP preview for M:S. I was able to walk right on while my wife waited with our son in the waiting area around 10:00 a.m. All you need to do is ask the attendant at the entrance for a child swap pass.

To answer your question about the waiting area, yes, it is a nice area with air conditioning, a play area for children with tunnels to climb through, a place to send email back home, and some interactive computer games. This was also the area where the gift shop was located. It was very easy for me to find my wife in the area. Afterward, she went on without any problems. The ride was great!! We never saw a stand by wait over fifteen minutes the entire day. Many people still do not know that it is open, thus keeping the lines down.

Good luck!

My husband and son rode this twice in the last week in the late afternoon and they walked right on it both times.
