Line Games?????

What do you guys do to keep your kids occupied in lines?? I am bringing 13, 12, 10, 6, 4, 2. I am not so much worried about the older kids but the three younger ones are going to be a little tougher. What kinds of things do you bring to help them keep occupied????

Assign a older one to talk to the younger ones. Just kidding. Always use fast pass where available. It will save lots of time in line. We had a 2 yr old there in April and he had no patience for lines. He did love the TTA in Tomorrowland wanted to do it over and over and over and over. Good Luck.

Six kids with that age range! God Bless You! For the older ones let them bring a paperback book if they like to read but you are
on your own with the little ones but how about one of those magic slates you know the kind with the stylus that you pull up the sheet to clear it. These are light but then again you will have a carriage to store this stuff when not in use. There is really not a whole lot that will keep the younger ones occupied for more than 15 or 20 minutes. I am a teacher and trust me somtimes that is even a stretch.

Little bottles of bubbles work for little ones. Try not to bother the people around you, although they will usually join in anyway.

bubbles, gameboy sp (small and lightweight), travel etch a sketch, travel magna doodle, play I-SPY, give them a map to plot "next move" look at pictures taken on digital camera, rock paper, scissors, that alphabet game....

If I were standing in line near you, I'd prefer that you not blow bubbles. They are messy and an annoyance to others.

They may be a bit messy but I'd rather have a bit of bubble goo dripped my way than have 2 or 3 rampaging littlies under foot and in my ears because they're bored and tired of waiting........

I didn't realize that I had to have one annoyance or another. It hasn't been a problem for me in the past. Most people that I have been around find a way to keep their children from terrorizing the other guests without resorting to bubbles.

Thanks for all your tips guys, I am leaving next week and they are going to come in handy. I am going to bring bubbles, I think that is a great idea I just hope that I am not standing in line next to Deb&Bill . I made up some trivia on index cards for all ages I left the opposite side of the card clean for signatures if the kids want to get some and put them in our scrapbook. I also brought a magnadoodle, here is hopeing that is enough

How about "I spy"? There should be a visual bonanza to choose from as you're standing in line. (or maybe not... it's been a while since I've visited...)

When my son was in Kindergarten, they played Categories at lunch time. Someone would come up with a category, such as, favorite Disney Character. Then everyone would answer with their favorite. Each person got to come up with a category. We still do this every so often when we're bored. No mess, no fuss.

We just got back from WDW with 4 kids under 9 yrs old. We utilized fast pass as much as possible which really helped with keep us in shorter lines. We found that we really didn't have to resort to line games to keep the kids occupied. Utilize baby swap for the little ones. It is much easier to keep the little ones happy away from the line especially if they aren't going to be able to go on the ride anyway. The baby swaps are all set up now so that they give the parent staying with the child a ticket much like fast pass that allows you to wait wherever you like and turn in the ticket at the fast pass line when the other adult comes out. The adult that waited first may bring 2 others with them when it is their turn. My 2 older sons loved this as they got to go twice with little wait.

...oh, i hope you're right!! our plan is to always have a fastpass! but, if for some reason we are stuck in a line (or waiting for a parade), i'd like to be prepared! rather have and not use, than need and not have i actually just surprised myself this weekend....since we fly to florida every year to visit family, i always keep a lookout for things for the plane. (not so much now since ds is 5 1/2 and is the proud owner of a new gameboy) i used to give him new toys, books, cars, whatever to keep him occupied on the plane. well, last year, i was roaming around Big Lots (at xmas i think) and happened upon a tic-tac-toe game. it is hand held (small) and you spin the tiles around to the "x" "o" or blank (think: the old "Toss Across" games you used to play with the bean bags--only smaller!) even has a slider piece on side to keep score. i picked it up cuz it was only $1!! boy, was i surprised to find i had that...i forgot i bought it. it will be handy waiting in lines. i guess it never hurts to cruise the toy aisle in the dollar stores....you never know what u may find!!

Improv games are great (like you would see on What's my line?)
My niece (8YO) a friend and myself passed a 2 hour splash mountain wait relatively painlessly by playing Disney party. You take turns with one person being host and the others pretend they are a disney character who is coming into the party. They have to act like the character so you can guess who it is.
Her favorite game is the Radio Disney game where we take turns being announcer then you pick one of the other players and announce that they are going to do either a commercial about some made up product of your choosing or sing a made up song who's title you choose.
They're both great for passing time!

i have these packed and will be sure to first ask those around me .....been collecting the little size ones from weddings/birthday parties, so they aren't big and too messy....we even have enough to give another little one!!
