line cutting

Except on Dumbo. <evil laugh>. ;)

:rotfl: Uh oh ....here we go!!! Not that old chestnut again!!!

Anyway, I like to use the hip check as a deterrent for line cutters, I get my booty in the way!!!

To me, the only legitimate line cutting is a parent who has to get out of line with a shorty to go to the bathroom. All other situations, just wait for your whole party to be together until you get in line. End of story. If you see someone in line and want to catch up with them, they wait for you, you don't get to catch up to them!! ;)

Its amazing anyone on the disboards enjoys Disney anymore - line cutters, body bouncing guests, parents who talk to their children - the horror. :scared1: Don't even get me started on the parade/fireworks fiascos :rolleyes1

I think I'm glad my family must go when most other disboarders don't. Of the things we find more disappointing with Disney these days (food quality, maintenance, crowding) - its not really guest related. I can't recall a single vacation that was actually impacted in any kind of significant way by a line cutter. Although I did get blocked on Pooh once by some big bad queue bouncer in jorts who wouldn't let me and DS through (at CM's request) as we were a party of 2 and they wanted to fill up the hunny pot.

TSM in the morning is just a controlled (barely) chaos. If you expect it to be anything else you will be disappointed. Just as OP didn't know where the stroller parking was - so do the hundreds of other people there not know what they're in for. If its going to stress you out and bust your moral/ethical/politeness bubble - don't go in the morning. We don't do Soarin' in the mornings, so I can't speak to that so much other than to say - if you know its going to upset you because you know some people will not follow the rules - don't go. OR better yet let Disney know so they can either figure out a way to address it or politely ignore the request.

You could have asked a Cast Member where stroller parking was...it never hurts to ask.

Also, the best thing to do is not leave space between you and the people in front of you for people to fit into. If you leave enough room for 11 people at TSM then you left a considerable size gap. If it was 2 people I would see it as not really being your fault but for 11 to fit, i feel you were both at fault. If you don't leave room for 11 people to fit, they wont cut.

We were all the way in front at Soarin' and my dd had to go. Now. They sent my family aside, gave me my fast passes back, and then told me come back all the way on the left to join them right in the front and we got right on. Thank goodness too. That kind of cutting I don't mind. It's a kindness and it was much appreciated.

TSM is a zoo at opening and she did say she thought the stroller parking was closer.

If there were people behind her and in front of her and she had been in line long enough to talk to the people in front of her there must have been an established line. If someone stepped in front of my DH he wouldn't have said anything either even if they were completely wrong and he knew it. Two wrongs don't make a right is his book so potentially starting an altercation with people who knew they were line cutting is bad behavior.

They knew from the DD they cut in front and didn't care, making yourself crazy about people who do the wrong thing is also the wrong thing.

I must say, line cutting is annoying, esp. when wait times are 5 min, yes, we were cut in such a short line. However, this is a vacation and the best is just to let it go right away. I do not want to be upset about situation for next few hours, not worth it, not the end of the world.

As a matter of fact I have let Disney know and they always get back to me quite politely. Thank you.

I would never not go to WDW because a few people are rude.

What is their defence? "I was line cutting and this guy wouldn't let me?"

It doesn't matter. You can't cause physical harm to other guests at the park. You will be asked (forced) to leave and forfeit your tickets. Especially something such as forceful a hip check you won't have a defense. "He tried to cut me so I hit him." If the cutter wanted to they could probably file charges against the hip-checker too.

:thumbsup2 All members of our family enter the line together. If DH is getting FPs (or back in the day when I had to park a stroller or take little ones to the bathroom before a ride), we never get in line and have someone have to "cut" to catch up. Cutting in line is cutting in line, no matter what the reason is. If someone needs to LEAVE a line to take a small child to the bathroom, of course I wouldn't have a problem letting them back in.

Most reasonable people have no problem with a parent taking a child to the bathroom.

That is a good way to get yourself thrown out of the park.

Yeah dude like I really throw a hip check into another guest. Get over yourself with your self righteous quoting of the park rules Ranger Rick!!!

And anyway if I stick my body out so someone can't break the rules and squeeze by that isn't my problem if they run into me!!

The hip checker is being hit. Not the other way around.

I do have to say that the number of people who find physical intimidation or agression acceptable and applaud worthy is pretty disturbing. I don't find any kind violence acceptable though.

Yes the hipchecker would get thrown out of the park - regardless of why the did it. Someone cutting in front of a line does not give anyone the right to physically attack someone. Address it with a CM and let Disney deal with it. I love how people tell their kids not to fight - its not okay to hit, but watch me bouce that teenage line cutter off my chest :sad2: Well maybe they don't teach their kids not to fight or resolve conflict without violence???

You are the one who said you like to throw hip checks to prevent other guests from cutting you. I was simply stating that if you did that you might be asked to leave the park if the person complained to a cast member.

Please don't name call. That is uncalled for and very childish.

Um no. A hip check is when you swing your hip into someone else very forcefully. The poster was saying they swing their hip into the cutting guest in a form of violence to prevent cutting.

No one is allowed to touch another person.

I have held hands with my kids in the Soarin' line so people don't get past us. How violent it that!!!

And I followed up with "I get my Booty in the Way". Don't take everything so literally, sport !!!

I've been going for the past 7 years and haven't been ejected yet. Maybe your willing to take crap off of every line jumper, but I am not.

And you're not the boss of me, so don't quote the park rules and don't tell me what to do. How's that for childish!!!

Um no. A hip check is shifting your weight from one foot to the other moving your hip from one side to the other while standing still.

"Form of Violence" :rotfl::rotfl:
