Line cutting at DL?

I have been to WDW and never experienced any line-cutting.

I just recently went to DL and never experienced so much line cutting before in my life. And people blatantly doing this right in front of you like they did nothing wrong!!! Could not believe it!

Is this normal?

No its not normal but it does happen. As a former CM and for the fact that there are others who waited patiently in line, I usually speak up about it and tell them to move to the back of the line. Other times I tell the CM about it and sometimes they do something about it.

What days of the week, times of day did this happen?

What were the typical ages of "line cutters"?

Thanks.

I've unfortunately experienced this as well. Not enough to ruin a day, but certainly enough to be a little annoying. I don't know why. I have not seen the blatent cutting where someone goes directly to the front, but I have seen 'saving spots' where one person will save a spot in line for a group of other people and then let them in towards the front of the line. It has been all ages - parents saving spots for kids, teens saving spots for friends, or adults saving spots for other adults/kids.

Eh, the savings spots thing doesn't get to me that much if its like someone using the restroom, or had to step out of line for a second. BUT it does get to me, say the pirates line, people just kinda walk right in, right in front of the line, that irritates me!

Oh yes I've seen it quite a bit. Last year this guy cut in front of the lady in front of us. She said something and he became irrate! So much that it was a little scary.

The lines can be a little frustrating for me. People who don't move up because they are in the shade, not paying attention, or taking a million pictures drives me batty (I do say something, and if they still don't move I usually will try to go ahead of them after so long). Or people who wait until it gets close and then try to bring in their 15 family members. I take a lot of deep breathes in line.:lmao:

i understand if they were there, then a kid needs to go to the bathroom, but for one person to hold a place for like 10 people, i really really dislike it but what can i do anyways. nothing. :\

I just want to comment on holding a spot for a child. we have a 5 year old who doesn't have the patience to wait for a ride like DUMBO for over 45 minutes. It is not uncommon at all for my wife and I to split up and have one of us wait in a line like DUMBO while the other one goes on something with a shorter line like tea cups or the carousel. Honestly, I do not view it as cutting when a parent is saving a spot for a child on a ride that most parents wouldn't ride without their child anyway.

I do understand the frustration of people in the back when spot saving occurs but I know with kids that it is sometimes a necessity for the sanity of all involved.

You know, our most recent trip to Disney I was shocked by how rude some people were, including in line. There was one group that had the dream fastpasses and they practically knocked us down trying to cut in front of us at the Soarin fast pass enterance. I was so shocked/ticked. Mom/Dad and 2 tweenage boys, trying to shove their way past myself, DH, and our 6 and 7YO DDs :sad2: Like, we were waiting in line to show our FP tickets and they had their hands (holding the passes out) OVER our shoulders, shoving their bodies up against the back of us :sad2:

When that happends I usually says something to my 7 year old (loudly I might add) about how rude it is when people cut in front of us in line and how glad I am she is patient enough to wait her turn. It has actually made people back off before because then they look stupid that they aren't as patient as a 7 year old.

I totally do that too!

One time for dumbo two older kids (want to say 11-12) asked if we'd hold their spot so they could run to the bathroom. We had no problem with that. Then we noticed them sitting off to the side with a parent, and we figured they decided not to ride. Well as we were getting very close to the front they wanted in front of us. I told them no, we weren't going to stand in that hot line while they sat in the shade the whole time. Not like they were even someone we knew! Not to mention they lied and said they were going to the bathroom! That I found very rude!

I guess it really depends on how many days I have been there. I would be much more patient the first couple of days because I would just be so happy to be there. But towards the end of the trip is when I would probably get more annoyed with it. I also don't mind when parents take young kids out of line to give them a break while another parent stays in line. Afterall, I can't fault someone for doing what I would be wishing I could do. :rotfl2:

I don't mind the saving spots for small children (not for 10 people that is quite alot) as much as the blatant line cutting. The pirates line was the worst! People walking right in front of you. The ages of people were young and old.

I did say something to my daughter who is 7 very loudly and she responded loudly too! But it didn't seem to embarass them at all!

I guess they were making their own "fastpasses"

I was happy to be there too but it happened quite alot !!! And I couldn;t believe it!

I was there may 17-21st

I also get annoyed with the people who simply ingore their bored kids in the line. They don't even talk to them, let alone try and amuse them and ignore them when they are pushing, trying to run around and climb on things. I find if I talk to my kid, play 20 questions or something she is fine.

Never been to DL (yet) but what DH and I (or us and whoever else we are with) do when we spot line cutting is hold hands and separate from each other as much as possible, SO if someone is going to cut they have to go over or under our arms, lol, and that hasn't happened.

when me and the crew are there and it is a wide line, I am sure to block all paths. . . put one kid here, one kid there, my husband in a good spot and me. . . and I give THE LOOK the minute somone tries. . . normally they stop behind me. . . and if I have been talking to the people behind me I say, excuse me the line starts at the BACK of the line, you should try it some time. . .

Line cutting is one pet peeve my DH and I share. Last trip we tried something new...I told him I was going to TRY to not let too many things bother me. Well I tried but some people are just too inconsiderate. Therefore when we stand in line, we take up the whole width of the space just to keep people from cutting. I once had this woman give me a sob story about her family and how they had to leave in 30 mins but wanted to ride this ride one last time and couldnt' they just be in front of us? I was fuming and she knew it but she let them hop right in with her because she couldnt' just leave her family out! ARGH...

I haven't encountered as many line cutters as some of you have..I did encounter a couple of line cutters at Alice.. told the CM..the 2 people were removed from the line...

I've encountered line cutters sometimes (not often), and tell them no, they cannot go in front of me.

This has happened at DL and at WDW.
