Yesterday I went dress shopping with a fellow Disney bride who is also from Tampa. First, I have to say how WONDERFULLY FABULOUS she is. She took her whole Saturday to go dress shopping with me, a complete stranger and I absolutely couldn't have done it without her. It was so nice to have a person who a.) has done this before and b.) understands the importance of sneaking in pictures for a PJ!!!
We started out at this random shop which carried the Davinci Bridal and had style 8220. That was the first dress I tried on. We did not pick this. I don't know if it was the fabric, or if it was 6 sizes too big or the fact that it's red, but no. Definitly not. It made me look boxy. This dress needs to be worn by a person with more curves and hips and things.
Some pictures
Then Disney bride picked out a dress that was similar but that she described as hideous. So I tried it on and I completely understood what people mean when they talk about a "the one" moment. I am not going to post the pic of me in the dress. DF already accidentally saw the picture but I'm hoping he forgets. As you know, he reads the PJ so I don't want him to stumble upon it again. (Needless to say, it may have been hideous on the rack, but it was not hideous in person. I think it might have been the bolero that comes with the dress was hanging weird and looked funny)

I will, of course, be wearing my hair that way. I mean, wouldn't you?
After I tried that one on I was pretty much ready to stop, but Disney Bride told me that I shouldn't decide this quickly and I needed to try on a few more. So we went to another bridal shop and didn't find anything to sing about. We had some lunch and then went over to the Demetrios salon. I tried on a few more dresses there and ended up having another "the one' moment. It is essentially the same exact dress as the one above, except that the pick ups are a little more random. It's Demetrios style 2787 which, of course, isn't on their website. After seeing this dress I decided it was the actual one... and we were done shopping.
However, then I got home. The picture of the Demetrios wasn't on the website and I realized that the two dresses were nearly identical. The Mary's bridal dress is half the price of the Demetrios dress and it comes with a cute little bolero. So I'm going to sleep on it for a few more days and I think then I'll be able to make a final desicion. Both dresses are beautiful and I know that both of them will be perfect. And as I told DF, the extra $600 dollars that we'll save can go to something else (like a confetti cannon).
I think that no matter which dress I pick I'm going to have it made into a sweetheart neckline (both are straight strapless dresses) a sweetheart just looks nicer.
