Lindsay and Chris PJ! WP/Italy Isola/AAR...Disneyland Paris Honeymoon added 7-19

I agree,,,,just think home many people will find your Planning Jornal by searching "White Picture"

I'm ignoring all further comments about the dreaded white picture....

So, a few days ago I emailed Joe totally flipping out about the rain and how we are having a totally outside location. I was having nightmares about being stuck in an ugly room with no nice decorations so I went to Joe to see if he could help figure out a plan.
My original question was, can we keep the 5pm ceremony time and do AAR instead?
Joe came back with a few things for me.
1.) He said that he understands that I would be concerned about the weather and that Epcot does it's very best to accomodate brides in the event of rain. (and I'm not doubting that they do... It's just so nerve wracking to not know where our rain backup is....)
2.) He suggested, but doesn't reccommend doing a 5pm ceremony, cocktail hour on isola, dinner inside AAR and then back out to isola for fireworks. He thinks it's too rushed. (Caryn agrees, I think I agree too)
The problem is that you can't use AAR until 7pm. (Which I think is stupid)
3.) He suggested (and recommended) that we move to the 7:30 ceremony, have the French Island cocktail hour and then go to AAR.

Option 2 is out. It is too rushed and I don't want people to feel like we are going in and out constantly. Obviously my problem with option 1 is that we don't know where we'll end up if it rains. He said that we *might* get China as a backup (which would TOTALLY rock) but again, he can't guarantee that. I have a few problems with option 3, but none of them are as large as the problem with option 2. My option 3 problems are: the ceremony at 7:30 makes for a late party and eating dinner late.... I turn into a pumpkin at midnight, and I don't want to be tired. DF was pretty adamant about not seeing each other before the ceremony, but then we won't really have any pictures together if we don't see each other.... We need to have 100 people. I think we'll have 100 but I'm not sure. Caryn only had 60.

So, what do you think? Should we risk rain? Should we risk me turning into a pumpkin?

I know and getting nervous:guilty: not anout marrying him, its just all the planning..lol

Whats this white picture I am reading about?

What is the likelihood of rain at this time of year in Orlando? If, in the past 50years, it has rained every single day of April and May, then you should probably go with Option 3. If it doesn't usually rain, I'd say go for your original location. The probablility of it raining AND not getting China as your backup is pretty small. If you don't like to be up late, then it'd be silly to have a party that goes into the wee hours (imagine the bleary-eyed pics). Besides, if best case scenario is outdoor ceremony, then pick the option that gets you the best chance at that (and if it rains, you'll be so busy with all of the wedding craziness that it might not even matter that you didn't have your first choice).

i know you're going to hate this idea, but maybe you should move your ceremony site so that you're not stuck with the times there...just a thought.

i think that you should either stick with #1 or go to #3. i'm not a fan of seeing each other before, but that's just me. also, i don't think you'll get tired. i think you can take some nyquil and get a good nights sleep the night before, then we'll have a late brunch at o'hana and by the time that's over, you'll have to start the hair and make up parade. so the 7:30 isn't as late as it seems since there are so many things that need to go on that day...

delurking to give my completely irrelevant opinion.
1. dh and and I saw each other before and it was just us, alone, and very romantic and special, and once the wedding started it was just a whirlwind for the next 4-5 hrs. I've never regretted having those few quiet minutes with dh. 12 yrs and 4 kids later = happily ever after ;)
2. I'd go with #1, I think its what you really want, and its not likely to rain this time of year..... if it doesn't rain but you change it, because you think it "might" will you regret not having those venues?
3. With at least 100 guests, what are the possible backup options? China and ???? are some really icky or are there many options?

4. I'm really loving your planning journal, I read Caryn's and was happy to see yours. Making notes for my princess princess:

I say go with what you've really wanted which seems like Option #1. I'm sure whatever Disney does to accomodate you if the weather acts up would be beautiful. I think the odds are in your favor for good weather.

If it rains, it rains, nothing you can do about it. You can let Disney worry about it and still have a fabulous day. But like My Princess Livy said, if you do go with a second choice location and it doesn't rain...you might have more regrets because it seems like you have your heart set on your 1st pick location.

I love that your mom is here, I love that Caryn is so fresh, I love that Mama Katz is here, and I'm dying to see the white picture whether it's being spoken of or not :rotfl:

Do what you want! I vote #1. :flower3:

Oh, and see eachother before hand. You'll never regreat it. Just look at Lurkyloo's pictures!

I WAS WORRIED ABOUT THE WEATHER ALSO. MY BACK UP WAS AAR, BUT I DIDN'T NEED IT, YOU HAVE TILL 3 HRS PRIOR TO CHANGE YOUR LOCATION TO BACK UP. I LOVED ISOLA, PLUS ITS CLOSER TO AAR THAN FRANCE:confused3
DO WHAT YOU HAVE YOUR HEART SET ON, I ONLY HAD 50 GUESTS, IT WAS FINE, MY 730 CEREMONY WAS GREAT, I WAS A LITTLE TIRED BY END OF NIGHT, BUT IT GOES SO FAST YOU DON'T REALIZE IT TILL YOU SIT DOWN AT HOTEL. WE ONLY DID COCTAIL LIKE FOOD WITH BAR, FOR RECEPTION, AND IT WAS FINE, MOST OF OUR GUESTS HAD EATEN PRIOR TO CEREMONY ANYWAYS, YOU REALLY DONT NEED TO DO A FULL DINNER THAT LATE WHICH CAN SAVE MONEY FOR OTHER THINGS! JUST SOME IDEAS!

lindsay, i think bobbie's giving you great advice here...see, she had aar for her rain location...

this is a quote from the other thread. that way you don't have to see each other. you can have your bridal portraits, family pics etc during the day and the wedding pics at night. if you hurry through the ceremony (ie: i do, i do, we're done) then you'll get sunset pics at the wp while we go drink...

Hey Lindsey~
We Didn't See Each Other Before The Ceremony Either, We Had 730 At Wp Then Reception Followed At Italy In Epcot We Were Insistent To Make It To Illuminations For The Picts Randy Was Great And We Made It To Epcot About 20 Min Before Illuminations, We Still Got Picts Done In Wp, And Outside Under Arbor. We Didn't Get Daytime Photos, But We Had A Nighttime Wedding And Wanted To Remember It That Way, We Still Had Tons Of Great Picts!, Randy Actually Came To Get Me And My Girls At 5 Pm At Wilderness Lodge And We Went And Took Lots Of Picts In The Daylight Then He Met The Guys At Grand Floridian For Picts Outside, Then The Girls Came Over After They Were Done, And Took More, It All Worked Out Fine!

I wouldn't worry too much about the rain, I think that Disney will do it's best to make sure it is nice even with rain!

hello ladies .. i havent been online a lot lately as i've been dealing with my own relationship woes! Too much to tell and id prob start crying while i told it so .. who needs that ... nehoo I have so much to catch up on. first off, I HATE THAT WHITE PICTURE! I mean I really really hate it. Its one of those pictures that you just want to throw out when a new boyfriend comes around. I remember when those pictures were taken that all people kept asking my mom was "where are their shoes they arent wearing shoes jayne". so weird. so i think you should stick with your 7:30 plan lin. remember how tired we were at caryns by the end of the day cause we were up so early. with a later time we can all have a brunch and relax by the pool then start the hair and make up deal without having to freak out about time and how exhausted we are. not to mention that a later ceremony people have a little bit more of a choice as to when they can arrive at disney. people can fly in that day adn not have to really freak out about missing the ceremony. not to mention you can have fireworks pics and it will be soooo pretty. nehoo .. i think you should go with whatever you and chris want. make it your day and make it special. i think that you can see eachother before the wedding and it will be fine. i mean c'mon the gigg is up .. we craig girls have broken most of the rules when it comes to this stuff so .. shoot man .. why not see ur almost hubby before he becomes your real hubby. see eachother, really take time to take in the moments that your going to spend together. take some pictures and enjoy eachother because for the next few hours .. you really wont have that "alone" time until after it all. take teh time while you have it and enjoy eachothers company.
nehoo .. tahts my take on it all.

with a later time we can all have a brunch and relax by the pool then start the hair and make up deal without having to freak out about time and how exhausted we are.

Do you not remember the following post?

LINDSAY.

heed this warning very carefully.

THERE ARE NO TAN LINES ALLOWED AT MY WEDDING.

i already sent you the tanning lotion. now we're at the point where that will be ineffective.

GO TO THE TANNING BED. GET SPRAY TAN. DO WHATEVER YOU HAVE TO DO TO REMOVE THE TAN LINES.

there are NO tan lines allowed at my wedding. NO FREAKING TAN LINES.

bridezilla or not. NO TAN LINES.

just wait lindsay. if you have tan lines for my wedding, just wait, JUST WAIT and see how i look for yours. JUST WAIT LINDSAY.

Now, thinking about this post, do you think that spending time by the pool is what we need to be doing? No.

Engagement pics were today and they were lovely. I will do a longer post about them later, but right now Rock of Love 2 is on and I'm being reprimanded for not watching.

No tan lines.

lol, I am hearing "No tan lines" in the "No more wire hangers" voice!!

Meg, I am sorry to hear of things not being great!

Lindsay, I vote 1 and I think your wedding is going to be GREAT.

I also want to see the white pic, lol.

I am :rotfl: because you held up posting about your engagement pictures to watch ROL2 !!

Yay, Ambre won! :woohoo:

Now, details about those engagement pictures!! Did you wear your glasses? Hair up or down?

Suzanne

I'm sorry this is stressing you out! As I'm sure you've heard, you get all the worrying out before the day so that you can let it all go then and have fun no matter what happens. :cloud9: We had an outdoor ceremony so I can relate to that. Luckily it doesn't often rain in early June in NJ.

We saw each other before the ceremony for pictures but then had time alone afterward with our own champagne and no one bothering us. I don't know if there is a place where you can do that, but it was probably the only time we had together for the rest of the night, and very special. We planned for it so that everyone knew where we were and not to bother us.

Taking pictures beforehand was actually the best thing even though I didn't want to. It is a chore! And by doing it that way and getting all the family pics done, we were able to enjoy the reception with our guests and no one had to be pulled out for pictures.

We looked at both Isola and France this weekend after our engagement pictures were done. Did your guests mind that your food was more cocktail hour-y than dinner-y?

I wouldn't worry too much about the rain, I think that Disney will do it's best to make sure it is nice even with rain!
I know... as DF said "we are throwing a party in Disney. How bad can it be?"

Lindsey I cant wait to see the photos:goodvibes
Me neither! I do not want to wait a month!

Okay. DF and I LOOOVE Rock of Love 2. Love it. We don't miss it. I think that Ambre was a WAY better match for him than Daisy. What a freaking train wreck that girl was. Living with your boyfriend?!? Ummm no. And imagine how she's going to look when she gets old!!!

My plan is to do all of my worrying now so that when wedding day comes, I don't have to worry anymore!

And now, the engagement pictures.
I decided to wear my glasses, because I wanted to look like myself. I also decided to wear my hair down (because as Caryn would say, only amish people wear buns...) So I went to the salon and had them blow out and flat iron my hair. We get all dressed up and head over to the Poly to meet Randy. (Love him, btw)
We walk out to the beach and it's seriously like we entered a wind tunnel!! My hair (that I paid to get styled) blew all over the place!! I kind of started to regret not putting my hair up because I'm concerned that my hair is going to look bad. (However, I put enough product in it that it should be okay... but you all know by now that I'm a worrier) Pictures took about an hour, maybe a little longer because on the beach shots we were there for a long time either waiting for the wind to die down or for me to fix my hair. Randy assured me that the pics would still be great. It was pretty cloudy, so I wanted to get finished before the rain came.
As we were finishing I asked Randy a bunch of questions about our day. And as he dropped the flash for his camera he mentioned that he does have backup equipment.
As we were leaving the Poly we ran into Jonette (HI JONETTE) She is SOOOOOOOO nice. She gave tons of advice about my worries and reminded me that it's Disney, and everything is going to be wonderful. I'm so lucky to live in the area and get to meet so many Disbrides. (On a side note, DF totally doesn't get why in the world I would want to meet Disbrides.. I tried to explain meeting my internet friends. Just didn't work)

As we walked out to the car it started to pour. Cold, wet, windy rain. (Rain. The bane of my existence) Our original plan was to go over to Epcot, see Flower and Garden, then time the walk from French Island to AAR, walk around AAR so that I could envision our day if we have it there, and then go over to Isola and check that out too. However, it was cold and raining and I was wearing a dress. But I knew that we werent going to get back to Epcot before we had to tell Joe exactly what locations we wanted. DF (have I mentioned that I love him :lovestruc ???) Said that he was more than willing to walk in the rain so that we could see our locations. So I decided that we'd drive to Boardwalk. Have some food and wait and see if the rain let up.

We went to ESPN and had some food, DF watched some sports (the Masters pre show I think) There was soccer on our little TV by our seat, which was cool. DF ordered a hot tea (yes, it was that cold) and I expected them to bring out a mug with hot water and some Lipton.... well no! They brought out one of those sugar holders that had about 10 different flavored tea bags! How cool! I know that the tea selection isn't supposed to be something one gets excited about at ESPN, but I sure was!! So as we sit there, the rain starts to let up and we walked over to Epcot.

For those of you that are curious, it takes about 10 minutes to walk (really slowly) from French Island to AAR. Voices of Liberty were singing when we got into AAR so I tried to be really quiet while I explained to DF where the tables would go etc. I was originally concerned that pink flowers wouldn't match (because for some reason, I only remember people using red flowers in AAR) I decided that they would match and I will be using them.

Then we walked over to Isola, which I like better. I think it's prettier and more open and closer. But DF isn't in love with it and as he says French Island is "our spot" so...

On our way home we made a final decision (which I should probably tell Joe...) We are going to see each other before hand and have a 7:30 ceremony. Chris told me that he thinks he'll be nervous, so I think that seeing each other will be good for him. Then we'll do cocktail hour at French Island (our spot) then we'll have everyone take the nice stroll over to AAR where we'll have dinner and cake. After being in that cold rain after pictures yesterday I think this really is the best choice I could make. I would worry every time it rained if I didn't pick this one. And I think our guests will like to walk a little bit around the park after it's closed (who wouldn't like that?)

Randy said about a month for our pics. I already can't wait!

I'm glad you've made a decision that you are happy with. Am I being stupid though, whats AAR?

American Adventure Rotunda, I think.

Lindsay, it sounds great! Having a more personal touch will always make it more special!
