Trying to decide if I should preorder the regular photopass cd or photopass+...

Rides that offer photos are also favorites for our family's favorite rides that we will go on multiple times during our trip. In the past I have limited myself to 1 or 2 ride pictures.

Is there a limit to ride pictures many you can add to the card. For example, if we ride Space Mountain 5 times can we upload all 5 of those pictures?

Also, please clarify, can add/order regular photopass cards to your photopass+ account?

I'm picturing the riders carrying the photopass+ card and the rest of us carrying regular cards... Will that work?

Planning makes the trip seem closer...

1. Nope, no limit.

2. Yep. The only difference between the PhotoPass CD and the + is that with the + you can add dining and riding photos to the CD without purchasing them separately (before, Test Track was the only ride photo you could add to the CD with buying the picture). Also, you don't order PhotoPass cards. The first time you see a PhotoPass photographer that you want to have take your picture, that photographer will give a card that he/she will scan, and then when you go to other photographers you give them that card to scan. (Scanning the card associates the pictures taken with that particular card.) For everything you need to know about PhotoPass, check here:

3. You don't need to each have your own PhotoPass card unless you plan on splitting up.

We are just back from Disney and used photopass + for us it was a big hit and we will be using it again. As the previous poster stated yes you can do multiple for a given ride.

If you do end up not with the card on a ride still get the number and you can go back with the Photopass+ card later to claim the picture (I believe you have something like 24-48 hours to claim it but I am not exactly sure)

I just read a newsletter posting about the Photopass + and the writer made it seem like you could get prints each time you rode it.....so if we ride Space Mountain twice, do we get 2 paper prints as well as being able to upload those photos to the + card?

NO prints they scan it onto your card.

Maybe the writer was confused about the character meals. There you actually get the print and have to have it added later to your card. We would usually do this at our resort.

No, they mentioned the ride names. They stated that they got 2 on one ride and 4 on another. Maybe she meant scans but the way it was written it looked like prints because she said that the cost of the pictures alone added up and saved her a bundle.

I'm fine with them being digital really....less to carry around the park :) I do like the little envelopes they put them in though LOL.

We used PP+ on our last trip in june. Loved it! Family of 7, 6 park days, a touch under 500 ride pics. Yep. Just ride pics. once the kids figured out where the cameras were, the game was on!!

For rides, you do not get a print. It is a digital download.

You may not want to let children carry the special PP+ card. We were there early in the roll out, but the PP people said several times that losing that card would severly threaten all life on Earth. Okay, just our photos, but they made it sound so serious, like it would be super difficult to replace.

You can add as many regular PP cards as you want. But only the one special card can be used to add ride and meal pics.

We will probably do it again next year, but I really really wish it was simpler to add ride pics. really.

We got a ton of ride pics too :thumbsup2 . We found it to be worth every penny. My DD9 was posing on SM, RnR, EE, and Splash Mountain. lot's of fun.

so how hard is it to add the ride pics? And is it easier to just carry a regular pp card for the park photos and then add them to that account when you get back home? Or as long as you make a copy or take a picture of the numbers on the back of your pp+ card you're good?

I'm curious what made getting ride photos difficult?? Is not just a scan of the card??

I really need to know what they do if on the off chance someone did lose their card.... I'm really bad a losing stuff... especially on Disney trips:worried:

Here's my question:

We are going with extended family and have different park days planned out. When we aren't together - if one family is at HS and I am at MK with the photopass+ card - can she text me the ride number and I can get the photo at the MK photo spot or do I have to physically be at the ride it was on?

Re: having only one Photopass + card when the group splits:

I don't know of my own knowlege, but I read on another thread that CMs were recomending you try taking a cell phone picture of the Photopass + card, and trying to scan the picture on the cell phone. It didn't always work, but people were reporting it worked most of the time. Which leads me to wonder if there is anywhere in the park to get photocopies of the card for each person to have? (You only get the card after you arrive at the park, right?)

We also just got back... What was a pain was to stand in the photo lines to have the card scanned. Thankfully the lines weren't bad but I could imagine it would be terrible during busy times. I don't really think there could be a faster way however as a lot of the photos required a little adjustment to fit in with the ride borders... I didn't do a lot of the rides except Buzz so I would just go stand in line while the family moved on to another ride. If they were planning to do the rides a few times we just waited and scanned at the end.

Is it just a long wait because of others waiting in line to buy photos? If you have photopass+ don't they just need to scan your card? How exactly does it work with the ride photos...

You need to wait in the same line as those buying photos. Maybe they will have a dedicated person during busy times... Basically you give your card for them to scan. The photos have the same borders or icons that you'd get if you'd purchase the photo but sometimes the people are covered by the border etc. The CM can move around the image so that the photo looks best just like if you were buying a print.

We were just there and sometimes the wait to get the ride photos added to the photopass+ were long, but I feel it was well worth those ride photos. Just to get the 5 of us on RnRC was worth it. Would have been two different pictures the way we were loaded and I never purchased them before.

We were there the 1st 2 weeks of August, racked up 451 pictures on PP+. Kinda cool. Lines fluctuated with space mountain the slowest at times. Most of the time we had 1 family member get in line while another found the #.

As I am now editing the pictures, I have one recommendation for ride photo's. Make sure they adjust the picture at the desk. We were told numerous times that we will be able to manipulate the photo online to "eliminate" those other happy non family members with us. Not So!:confused3 The borders they apply on the picture becomes part of the picture and when you later edit the picture at home by zooming, croping or moving it, you will loose the border. No big deal this time as some of the other peoples faces are hysterical, especially on ToT:rotfl2:.

I do have a question. Are all the pictures set for 4x6? When I get the cd and later print a 5x8 or 8x10, will the quality be poor or borders from ride or general photo's not proportioned correctly? If so, I guess I have to save each as a 5x8 too which, besides being a lot of work will result in over 1000 pictures.

Overall the PP+ was an excellent value and we will do it again.

We will ABSOLUTELY use Photopass+ again next year. Soo many nice pictures of the 3 of us, especially nice to actually be IN most of the photos instead of taking them. Paid $169 with pre-order deal...best money I've spent on a trip yet!

Ride pictures need to be added at the ride.
