Limited HBD menu for Fantasmic Package?

We'll be going on the free dining plan in September. I discussed with my mom tonight the restaurants we want to go to and everything is narrowed down except our MGM restaurant. She REALLY wants to try the Hollywood Brown Derby and looking at the menu, I think I do too.

Dilemma: Mom is a Fantasmic junkie. She loves herself some Sorcerer Mickey mixed with pyrotechnics. She really wants to do a Fantasmic package because she's always been jealous of those elite people in the roped off section. I'm all for this, but if we're using 2 TS credits for Brown Derby, I sure as heckfire want to get my fair share of the HBD experience. Is there really a limited menu for it? I looked on the Fantasmic sticky but didn't see any real limited menu posted. Allears isn't very clear either. Seems more like a limited menu for MM than for HBD.

Would we be able to get good seats and not wait long in mid-Sept for Fantasmic w/o the package? Would it be a possibility to ask our waiter for a voucher w/o the package? (I've seen a lot of people have this experience, but I know it's not guaranteed).

I'm worried about not being able to get what's on the menu on allears if we do the package. I'd be really disappointed to do the package and not be able to order what I wanted.

Help! I want to do something that will make both of us happy... oh and btw there's only 2 of us so we don't have a problem of having to find a ton of seats together for the show.

I looked through the Fantasmic sticky a little more in depth since I didn't have any replies and I saw some posts from February stating that people did the HBD FDP and ordered off the regular menu.

Has anyone done the FDP at HBD and NOT been able to order ANYTHING off the menu??

If anyone can confirm/deny this, it would be great. I'm trying to plan out everything tonight to make ADR's tomorrow. I'm a little leery since a CM told someone that they could order anything off the MM menu for FDP and you really can't.

Wanted to bump this up for you hoping someone else will have feedback- but also give you some of my own!

We used the FDP at HBD in November 2004.
As far as I can recall, I'm almost certain that we chose anything off of the regular menu. We were to choose any appetizer, any entree and a dessert.
We really love HBD! We have an ADR now for October 19.
...I'm not a salad person- but the Cobb Salad is great!

I asked this question when I called to make my ADR's for the HBD Fantasmic Package and was told that we could order anything off the menu. I hope that is correct.

We have eaten at the Brown Derby on the Fantasmic package twice and both times were able to order anything on the menu : one appetizer, entree and dessert each. Our last visit was Jan 2006. We loved the Cobb salad, filet and all of the desserts . We will do it again for sure! Enjoy!

When you say FAQ I'm guessing you mean the Fantasmic sticky? I'm thinking that it might be better to have it changed- the first post is from 2002 and has never been changed and there are 70-odd pages of replies!

It was ok to look through the past couple pages, but most of the thread isn't very helpful
