I have read that DIS goers wear a lime green ribbon, shirt, etc. Is that the "official" color to spot our fellow DIS board members! I am going in Oct 25th-27th at the boardwalk and I will don a Lime Green ribbon to show my DIS board pride. Do people actually appraoch and question if you are on the Dis boardsv or not? Have you ever approached anyone? Let me know!

I wear lime green ribbons and lime green Mickey Heads and have never seen anyone else wearing one. Maybe I am too involved in Disney at the time. I was approached about my ribbon once and was asked if I had someone in IRAQ:(
I would speak to anyone I saw. Probably would be excited and going on like: Ooohh a Dis'er, a Dis'er. Hiiii. I'm a Dis'er too.
So If you see someone like that just greet me and then you're free to go about your vacationing.

Yes, lime green is the official DISboard color. I haven't been to WDW since joining DIS but from what I've read, if you see someone that obviously has lime green items identifying them as DISboard members, then yes, go ahead and say "Hi!" Some people have mentioned their hesitancy at approaching people who just happen to be wearing lime colored clothing (not sure if they are members or just happen to be wearing lime green), so when I go I'm going to put lime green ribbon all over my backpack and I even ordered a couple of lime green buttons that say "DISboards" on them. Hopefully there will be no doubt that I am a member!

Some people have mentioned that at Home Depot in the paint section you can find a lime green colored paint chip from the Disney brand paint and it's in the shape of a Mickey head. You can grab a couple of those for free and pin them on yourself or your backpack. Check out the DIS store for other lime green merchandise.

I think it's safe to say that if DISboard members go through the trouble of decking themselves out in lime green then they probably would love for you to say something to them!

P.S. -- A DIS member recently posted that his server at Whispering Canyon at WL recognized him from his photo on the DISboards...she was also a regular!

I haven't seen anyone in the parks with the lime green ribbons yet but I've seen a lot of people at the Orlando Airport with them tied to their luggage. I always wear mine though, just attached it to my fanny pack. I think it would be cool to meet another DIS'er while in the parks. Have a great time. October's a fantastic time to visit.

Hi there...It does work...I ran into 3 disers in one day at Epcot...It was great.

Try going to the DISshop and look at what is available.

I wear a lime green lanyard, 3 lime green mickey heads from the home depot paint department that I laminated with my DISname on them and attached to my fanny pack with zip ties and a DIS button.

Have a great time and keep your eyes open.::yes::

Just back from the end of June - and unfortunately - didn't run into anyone wearing lime green. Of course I had my green on, with my Mickey paint chip hanging from my stroller every day - for 7 days. Even put 2 of the Micky chips taped to my resort window - in hopes of attracting someone.

Was always on the look-out, but just never found anyone. Gave my family something to rib me about all week tho :p

Two years ago we were at the Adventures Club and I saw someone with a lime green ribbon. I asked and she was a Dis’er. We had a great chat. By the way I’ll look for you. Guess I'd better get a line green ribbon too. We’ll be at the Boardwalk Oct 24th – 29th! ! !

We were there 6/28 - 7/6 and didn't see another dis'er (i was supposed to meet with a couple but tired hungry children took over the agenda).

I bought the kids the genuine DIS fannypacks. Bright lime green. The packs worked great: held a disposable camera, autograph book, pen, coins for the penny press, and a couple of their own items. They loved having them.

We were there 3 weeks ago and didn't see any other DIS'ers. Twice I even wore a DIS T-shirt, but no bites.

I was there in May and had a lime green Mickey head from Home Depot laminated and hanging from my back pack. At BackLot Tour at MGM, I was approached by another DISer! :bounce: It was great! I am so glad she said something to me because I didn't see her lime green, but she saw my Mickey head! ::yes::
She was the only DISer I saw the whole trip, but I was so happy to see even just one!!

I've spotted others and have been spotted on our last 5 trips. I wear lime green curling ribbons tied to the front AND back of the fanny pack, and have also tied a few to the DIS pin on my shirt. I wear them front and back so more people will see them. My last trip in May I wore my DIS shirt (the gray one) on two days and was approached only once - she wasn't a DISer, but was curious about the shirt. Since lime green is a popular color for summer apparel, I will no longer go up to someone just because they are wearing that color (have had some strange looks when I asked if they were DISers!) I will only approach someone if they have official DIS items OR if they are donning lime green ribbons and are obvious DISers. It's sooo much fun being spotted. In May while eating lunch in the MK, I saw a DIS shirt go by thru the restaurant window. By the time I could get outside to say HI, she was gone. She never knew it, but I DID see her!

We will be there form 10/20-10/30, if all goes as planned! I will be wearing my official lime green DIS fanny pack. . .Please feel free to come up and say hi to a short girl wearing this blindingly-colored fanny pack ;)! I'd love to meet a fellow DISer since I wore the same fanny pack last year, and I didn't meet even ONE DISer. I also have the DIS luggage tags AND lime green ribbons on my luggage :teeth:!

On our trip, we spotted an entire family (5-6 people) wearing lime green t-shirts. Thought about asking them, but figured it was too good to be true. Sure were easy to spot, though!
