Lilo And Stitch Woooooohoooooooooo

My vote goes to L&S! I saw Ice Age and TP, but I didn't care for either of them as much as I do L&S. I guess to me the storyline is the thing more than the animation. I loved L&S for it's old school approach to the story. Mickey

I have a hard time understand those who did not like L&S.
I found the story to be one of the best ever. It is much more than a little girl and an alien.....

I hope L&S wins....the story and the animation are worth an Oscar....

Atlantis and Treasure Planet left me very flat. L&S, on the other hand, really caught me. What a wonderful story with some really powerful moments.

We thought Spirit was very well done. I liked the artistic decision to not have the horses talk, but think it might not have been well recieved by the younger set. I really like the drawn Dreamworks animateds. Spirit, Egypt & Joseph especially.

Ice Age is hilarious.

But, for the winner, it's a no-brainer to me - Lilo & Stitch.

I thought L & S was ok, but not up to disney's standards.
If i had to choose i would chose Ice Age which was the best animated film i saw this year.

Some parts of Ice Age seems to be not well done or just plain boring. I know theres SUPPOSEd to be alot of ice but it made for a boring background in some scenes. I thought it was real funny.
Leguizamo pretending to be a running back in slow mo was hilarious laugh out loud incredible.

Lilo had great music great feeling and great characters...no real bad guy, the men were portrayed well as were the women and it was cool that she came from a 'broken' home of sorts. Stitch kicked some serious tail. the only thing that felt forced to me was the Elvis parts. Cobra Bubbles is the coolest name ive heard in awhile

I have no doubt that El Bosque Animado will win.

Disney had their gloves on that one but I'm not sure to what extent.

It's like the Spanish "Lion King" (not the storyline, but the popularity).

I liked L&S. Seen it several times (who's counting?) *wink*

The ONLY thing I didn't like about it is the WORDS used in that show.

Can you say 3 little ones walking around thinking it's all the sudden okay to say "stupidhead"?

ugh

I can only speak for myself and the observation of DR while we attempted to watch Ice Age on two different occasions, but could not stay awake. The animation quality was extremely poor and the story was just boring, but that is just my opinion.

Haven't seen Spirited Away, but would like to see it. I didn't see Spirit - had no interest in it. I really thought TP was a beautiful film, but could see L&S taking the award. Which would suit me fine - I liked it quite a bit.

I was mostly sad that L&S didn't take any musical nominations. I figured when Wild Thornberry's came out with Paul Simon that was what they were going for.

Lilo gets my vote! The theme is so relevant in today's world of "different" kinds of families and the whole movie is simply gorgeous. We got the DVD and the extra features spotlight all the talented people who worked so lovingly on this film. From the beautiful animation to the wonderful soundtrack, I think this one has something for everyone. I was disappointed that neither of the Hawaiian Children's Choir songs, which I believe are original compositions, were nominated for song. These can't be beat for crusing to Disney World!

Spirited Away played in my town for about 3 minutes and I am looking forward to seeing it on DVD.

My 3y.o. son luvs TP, for that matter so do I.
personally I would vote for Treasure Planet.

My family has seen them all and everyone votes for Spirited Away. We all felt like it was one of the best films of any kind that we had ever seen. That came from ages of 10, 13, 16, and my wife and I in our early 40s.

Entertaining, haunting, and very funny in parts, we couldn't believe it came and went so quickly in our neck of the woods (Well..........8 weeks in two theaters only). Disney blew it by not releasing it in more theaters IMHO. "Spirited" stands with the classics.

By the way.....we loved Lilo and Stitch too. Just thought SA was better.

Hey DisneyFanGuy, have you all seen "Kiki's Delivery Service?" It is another anime production by the same gentleman (won't even ATTEMPT to reproduce a Japanese spelling here...) It is the story of a young witch who goes off on her own to make her way in the world. The story is so nice for a kids' movie -- no "bad guys" who need to be dealt with, just Kiki and her adventures.. The animation is lovely and the soundtrack is good, too. The late, great Phil Hartman is as funny as ever as Kiki's cat Gigi. If you haven't seen this one yet, rent it! We are looking forward to seeing "Spirited Away" as well.

Thank you, Coleen. We will look for that movie. We loved the gentle story telling of "Spirited" and are waiting for the DVD. We have often chatted about looking for other movies directed by the same man. (I can't spell it either!) Thanks for the recommendation.

Jerry

As much as I love Lili & Stitch, I think Spirited Away is going to nab the trophy. Which is fine by me, it is still a Disney win.

Hi colleen costello and DisneyFanGuy:D,
His name is Mr. Hayao Miyazaki, and yes he is really a gentleman:p
Have you seen "My Neighbor Totoro":sunny:? I love it!

I am going to go to the preview of L&S this weekend in Japan. Sounds like many people in America love L&S so I am looking forward to see it!
