We just happened to be in the right spot at the right time on Tuesday afternoon. My DH were waiting for the train and one of the conductors came up to us to say happy anniversary and to ask us if we would like to join 2 other couples for a ride on the Lilly Bell. Oh course we said yes.
The Lilly Bell is just amazing. The tour guide was so nice and knowledgeable. It was so much fun. Pixie Dust does happen.

We lucked into a Lily Belle ride last time we were at DLR. It was a nice trip and a great experience. We were also wearing Anniversary tags. It was our 23rd...

This is funny! It was the same for my husband and I.

I guess I have learned over the years... buttons at DLR can be a nice thing and may get you extra magic. I know the CM pay more attention to you. They always seems to say something nice to button wearers.

That is so awesome, congrats! I happened to be in the right spot on Tuesday when I was asked if I wanted to join the ride on the Lilly Belle. I actually just wanted to catch the train to Toon Town. The train car is pure awesome! I will keep the train ticket as a memorable keepsake.

Wait - we weren't on the same ride, were we?

I was just on the 19th. About 1:30 or so. Were you also on at that time?

That's fantastic! My brother is going with us next month for his honeymoon and this is number 1 on their wish list. I told them, wear the buttons and ears and who knows what can happen. :genie:

We got to ride it on our trip in April! I went to the station on Main Street and they were signing people up, they allow 14 people in the car at a time. We got to ride it at 10am and it was awesome. The Lilly Bell is a beautiful car, we really enjoyed the trip.

My trip was on the 19th as well. I can't even tell you the time anymore. There was a couple with a kid from Australia in the car as well.

We were on this ride with you! I was the tall woman with the 7 yr old boy. We were killing time as we had fastpasses to Radiator Springs. We went to disneyland park to ride the train and just lucked into the Lilli Belle. The conductor saw my son's star wars pins and invited us over to join!

This is making me so sad... My husband and I were there two weeks ago to celebrate our 40th anniversary, and were wearing pins. We rode the train, while the Lily Belle was attached. No one was in it and no one asked us if we wanted to ride... I sat right in the front of the car, and every time we stopped, I jumped off to take photos of the Lily Belle car. Major whining here!

That is awesome! I was the one who joined last. I was actually just listening to what the conductor was explaining - I had no idea what the Lilly Belle is but it sounded really cool. So to find out it was Walt's private car was double awesome! It was my very first time at DL and I had just walked into the park about 5 mins earlier. It totally made my trip!

Walt personally owned Retlaw which operated the Santa Fe and Disneyland Railroad and the Mark Twain. He eventually sold to Disneyland Proper as I recall. The Lillybelle was actually never viewed in its current state by Walt. It was created from the Retlaw 1 observation car in the 1970s.

We were on this train with all. It was so nice to catch up with you all.
