Just wanted to let everyone know that this resort was okay. I guess you would have to understand that we are VERY spoiled by the Disney Vacation Club. We have been members for 10 years and I guess we now expect that type of accommodations. We were disappointed in this resort. The lobby was absolutely nothing to talk about. My husband hated it, he thought it seemed very dirty, which it was, but I think since it was small and cluttered it seemed worse. He does busy travel and he is used to the top notch hotels.
We got the requested tower, which I would highly recommend, or better yet, the two new tower buildings. Our room was on the fifth floor and overlooked a quiet pool. The main problem with this was that it smelt very musty. We had a two bedroom and much to our surprise the second bedroom had two full size beds. When we went for our presentation, it was not high pressure. However my husband ended it abruptly and we were told the "exit was thru those double doors on the left" after he told the sales manager that the bottom line was that he did not think the place was clean, the room was musty and when he walked into the lobby, it made his skin crawl!! WOW you should have seen that sales manager!!! He was so shocked he showed us the way out. For the money, and this was for every other year, I could buy 100 every year points at the DVC. Guess what I have my husband thinking about now!!

They did admit that they have not done much with the towers since they were built 7 years ago. As I kept reminding my husband during our stay, just remember what you are paying compared to Disney. I did not find it overall bad. I did not mind staying there, as we mainly were doing non disney stuff and were not in our room very long. Maintenance help and questions were taken care of quickly so no complaint there.

Just remember when you read this, that my family is SPOILED with the Disney timeshare and their accommodations. I am sure many people would enjoy it here. I hope to try a Marriott or Hilton the next time we venture off of Disney property.

Thanks,
Thank God we are only staying there for four days till we can get our reservtions at the Wyndham Palms. Thanks for the info on the presentation too. I think I will use that line and if it looks dirty then that is all I need. Were the rooms really disgusting. I cannot even sleep if I feel a room is dirty. No need to ask if you used the pool . How can they list this resort as 5 stars is beyond me.
I am use to the Vistana Villiages and truthfully, although I have not stayed the the Disney Vacation Club, I think that the two must be comparable both in decor and cleanliness so I know I will be disappointed.

I stayed there three years ago and the rooms were not dirty and there was no musty smell. Trust me..the cleanliness issue is most important to me. Don't worry...you will be presently surprised (since you're expecting the worst!)

Just the lobby looked Very cluttered and it could have been neater. The condos were okay except for the musty smell and since our room did have an adjoining door to the room next door, you could hear what was going on over there.
As I stated previously, we are spoiled by Disney's vacation club. This was the first non-disney timeshare that I have used so I really don't have much to compare against.
Enjoy your stay and will wait to hear from you.

the Marriott's Grande Vista Resort will remind you of OKW - Hilton's Grand Vacation Club (and RCI not II resort) - are pretty nice -

I will be staying at the AmeriSuites Vacation Club At Calypso Cay next. this is a new one that has only be opened since 2001 or 2002. they are currently building it.

do you have another timeshare so you can join II - their getaways (if you have a patience to wait) are pretty reasonable priced the last 30 to 21 days before - of course sometimes you can have a bargin before then.

I can't believe some the prices on skyauction lately - some are so low and then some are so high....

We have reservations at Liki Tiki Oct. 4-11, we too have always stayed in WDW....hoping we don't have musty rooms too! Decided to exchange timeshare weeks as opposed to paying for the World, hoping its not going to be a mistake. Did they have any sort of transportation to WDW there?

there was no transportation that I saw to any of the parks. We drove because it really is all by itself. While we were here, we did mostly non-disney things, like SW and golf and shopping. I would say that you definitely need a car to stay here. Have a good time and by the way our room was 550c, top floor in the older high rise.

We wil be at teh Orbit One and I am not sure if it is worth driving over to Liki Tiki for this. Crowded?

In my opinion they use the word waterpark a little too loosely. It's a fancy pool...and actually, not all that fancy. It's good for the little kids, but believe me it's probably not what you think it is.

Just back from 14 day vacation and thankfully, I only booked the 4 day speical at LT. God it was horrible and I agree with jcanary. Lobby gross, dead bug in the display case as well as dust. Water park? Hah!! Stained couch and rug on the floor. Wallpaper haning off the wall in the bathroom. I found out from our used car salesman oops I mean timeshare salesman that the rooms booked for those who came down on the timeshare special were those about to be demolished. When we took the tour they showed us beautiful new rooms.
Needless to say when we did book it it was through hotelkingdom they said it was a 5 star resort. Kind of like bait and switch if you ask me.I do not know through whose universe one would be able to count five stars. There were dozens of mosquitos too.
I will never go there again and plan to write a letter. Thankfully we booked 10 days at another 5 star resort following LT and this resort knew how to count stars. It was fantastic and it did live up to what it said online. I will be writing to hotelkingdom and complaining. I would have happily paid more money for four days at another resort but this one looked so good on line that I had even questioned booking my whole 14 day stay and paying the full price.
Just everything about it was disgusting and the timeshare tour was an embarrassment. Pick your worst nightmare for used car salesmen and that is who conducts the tour. I intented to send them a definition of professional. My salesman was taken back when I told him there was no way I would ever come back and could not wait to get to Vistana so I could shower. You can tell a lot from the lobby, and the way staff conducts themselves. I think one of my suggestions would be to put the time share people in khaki pants and a uniform polo shirt. High heels, and a dress and shall shot through with gold are not what I want to see in a salesman not to mention, sans a belt slack with saddle shoes on a senior citizen. I could go on and on . In 18 years of Disney this was the worst experience I have ever had and I intend to let them know I was not happy.

Thanks for your reply, my timeshare people made it sound like a beautiful place, "as nice as anything in Disney". Now I don't know what to do, will probably go and hope and pray we are in the new section! I'm so sorry that you had a bad experience Bella the Ball!

For those that have stayed at the Liki Tiki, we are staying in a townhome there. Would it be better to request a home closer to parking, pool?? I just got done reading the above reviews and now a little nervous. We don't have to go thru a timeshare presentation, so I'm not too worried about that. Also, what is terrible about the water park?? Is it something that 7 year olds might like???? Thanks for any and all help!
p.s. we are staying 11/15-22/03

I think the townhouses are the oldest part and have not been redone in years. The water park would be a water park for maybe a 4 year old. If you can I would definitely request a high rise room. We were in 550c and it was not tooo bad. they have brand new buildings which we did not get to see but if you can get into them do so.
If there is any way to get out of staying there and see if you can find a place on hotelkingdom.com for around the same price, you would be better off. I did not find our room horrible, not nice but liveable. good luck.

According to our guide they are not renting the townhomes there anymore. They were strictly for owners but he said they too were going to be torn down. My husband too said they were livable but I do not want livable when there are so many great places in
Fla that are not a chore to stay in. Even though they were not UNclean I did not like to see a urine stained bed and know my son was sleeping on it among other things.

I agree with Jcanary. If you can do not go there. Try hotel kingdom.com and see what theyhave. This is slow season. I do not know what your finances are or what you paid for LT but I am betting that you can upgrade for not a heck of a lot more.

As to the "water park" it is a joke in my estimation. They like to tell you they paid 3mil for it. Well in my opinion they got taken. I could do better with a sprinkler in my back yard. When it rains there are huge swampy puddles next to the bridge where the water park is that must be where the mosquitos are.
I would call them at the very least and ask if you are staying in a new unit or one that is going to be torn down. Insist on speaking to the resort manager. It is your vacation and it should be as nice as possible. I do not care what they say or what they charge. The old units are NOT 5 star and they should not lead you to belive that you are staying in a 5 star unit.

Go to the best and worst hotel experiences at the top of this forum and see if any of the best names are listed on hotelkingdom.com. If I spent my whole vacation there I would be screaming even louder than I am now!

We got our reservations through Interval International, and it was a timeshare swap thing, and I am not so sure we can change it at this time. This is the first time we have swapped weeks, because we have always been afraid of this happening. We still have no info on the place, except that our charge card wqas charged the exchange fee. Thought they would mail us info by now. I am starting to get a bad feeling about the whole thing now!

I do not really know how the timeshare thing works BUT as I said call and speak to the site manager and MAKE SURE that you get one of the new rooms. They were very nice. They did however claim that the town houses were what the owners used and that they were going to eventually be torn down. Then again the quality of the people doing the tour was not the best either. I would just call and say that you had gotten reports from people who recently stayed and were not happy with the accomodations.

This is what I did yesterday, the person I talked to on the phone, said that she would put in a request for me and that when we check in to make sure my request went thru. Ugh, i've got a bad feeling. This is the first time in 4 years that I got my dh to go with me. I hope this trip isn't a disppointment:(

We also exchanged thru interval. Have you called yet??

I wanted to call II first to get our info, and then find out what is happening. Guess I am dragging my feet....'cuz I am afraid of what this is all going to be like. :(
