Likelihood of getting 4th Fastpass for Space and EE

I was wondering what everyone's experience are in getting a fastpass for Space Mountain and Expedition Everest as 4th fastpasses. They will be for 3 (EE) and 5 (Space) people. We will be there August 16-24th.

We are planning on rope drop and midday break, so my plan would be to have my first set of fastpasses done by 1, and book a 4th fastpass for when we return around 5. I am mostly nervous about Space, as that is a must do and would be for more people. I think we could get away with only using 2 fastpasses in the morning- we are doing MK over 2 1/2 days, that day will do fantasy land in the AM and tomorrowland in PM, and will (hopefully) already ridden Mine Train on our arrival day. But it goes without saying that everyone would be happier the less lines we wait on.

For EE my kid is not a good candidate for the single rider line, so that's not an option for a shorter line.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. My fastpass booking day is Saturday, so I am trying to iron this all out (without twisting myself into knots). Thanks!

In my opinion, the odds for EE at AK are fairly high. We have frequently moved our time around in the early afternoon. I think you should be able to grab it as your 4th. Almost everyone is focused on having/getting Avatar FPs or holding onto a River of Lights until the end of the day. That helps you a lot. Also, the standby line has only been 20-30 minutes at peak for EE.

As for Space Mountain, I would think it would be considerably less likely you get it as your 4th. But no impossible. Others may speak better to it!

I've been looking at the wait times this past week since I will be in the parks at the end of the month and I have seen FP available for both EE and SM in the late afternoons and evenings but SM is usually gone for the day by noon with some EE still left.

It has been a couple of years (we leave for Disney tomorrow), but we got Splash and Big Thunder the last trip. FP is more understood with Disney advertising.

I guess we will find out.

We could not get a 4th for EE this past Thursday. The posted wait time was 50 minutes. We did single rider as was on in less than 10 minutes. Just a thought if that is an option for your group.

The standby waits in AK in the evenings are usually low everywhere but Pandora. I managed to score 4th FP for Na'vi so that's where my 4th was. We finished dinner around 8:00 and did Dinosaur and Primeval Whirl in half an hour, and at 8:45 waited eight minutes for EE. The posted wait was fifteen. The single rider I was paired with (we have an odd umber in our family) said he literally just walked up and was the first one in line. This was this past Sunday.

Space Mountain is harder. I didn't see any, but that was looking late afternoon/evening and for a party of five. Then again, I wasn't working at it. For Na'vi, I worked at it.

It's possible. We have gotten 4th FPs for EE, but I don't remember trying for SM.

Touring Plans has a chart showing what time most day of FP are gone based on various crowd levels, but it's almost 2 years old, so I don't think it's all that useful since so many things have changed since then. But I wish something like that existed.

Again, gone doesn't mean gone. I can't tell you how many times I've tried for a fourth or subsequent FP+ for a tier I attraction and been told by the app that there aren't any. If I keep refreshing the screen, I almost always come up with a time. They seem to pop in and out of existence with no logic, but they are usually there if you don't give up after the first try.

got 4th FP+ for Space last November and EE as well. Standby for EE that day was 15-20 mins so wait was short. Space was a day when MK closed at 4:30PM and crowds were pretty light that day.

as PP said, keep refreshing and they may turn up. I also had success grabbing the first time that MDE had and was able to move the time to what I really wanted.

I have found this to be a useful technique as well. If a time does pop up and it's one you don't want because it's really late, or whatever, take it anyway, then try to modify it for a better time. It seems to be easier to modify an existing FP+ to the time you want than to wait to find one for that exact time.

Short answer: VERY likely! They may not be at times that are ideal but you should be able to get them if your first 3 FPs are early enough in the day

On our trip over Memorial Day, we got these easily. Our group was just 2 in size.

We were at AK on Pandora opening day May 27, Saturday, and had reserved FPs for EE 10-11AM, FOP 11AM-12PM, NRJ 12-1PM.

After riding NRJ we got an EE FP for the mid-afternoon. Can't remember exactly when. Could have gotten EE for a 5th FP but that was our 3rd EE ride that day and we were done.

As for MK, we had reserved FPs for SDMT (9:30-10:30AM), Space Mtn (10:30-11:30AM), BTMRR (11:30AM-12:30PM).

We did get a Space Mtn as like our 7th FP. We already got one for SDMT for 6PM. Space Mtn FPs were available earlier too. The FP we ended up getting was for 9-10PM. We rode it right at 9PM. We also got extra FP sets for Splash Mtn, BTMRR and POTC in the afternoon.

Last night my group got passes for Space and Mine Train, and I believe they were numbers 4 and 5.
We didn't start booking passes until 7pm-ish and got into a couple meet and greets and a couple rides.

In the middle of the day, it might be tough finding times that are close in, but early evening tends to be pretty fluid in whats available

I agree - refreshing times is the best way. I got all kinds of stuff - even Peter Pan for 2pp as 4th or 5th FP. You might consider breaking your group into 2 parties- may be easier to find FP for 2 or 3 than for 4 or 5. Takes a little more effort, but you might be more likely to find overlapping times for 2 parties than one large party.

If you keep checking MDE, I wouldn't be surprised if you could get those FP+ for the evening. People's plans at that time of day tend to be more variable... maybe someone left for a break intending to be back for their FP+ at 6:00, but decided not to come back, or didn't make it when they expected because they missed the bus, or their dinner took longer than they thought, etc. People are literally changing their FP+ ALL the time.

That being said, if it was a MUST DO ride for my family, I would not risk it. I make sure to book FP+ for all essential attractions.

I had 5 FP+ for each member in our family for RnR last year and the times were not overlapping but was finally able to get better times that did overlap or were close together. no 2 people had the exact time. and these were 4th or 5th FP+

I haven't been since the ability to book via the app went live.

For those of you who have success refreshing, I assume you are using the app? Do you just refresh constantly and find something in a matter of minutes, or refresh once every minute or two and find something within say an hour?

Is there a way to quickly search for just a specific ride, or do you have to sift through all the rides in the park only to see that "distribution has ended for the day"?

I refresh consistently for a few minutes and pretty much can get whatever I'm looking for.

The best way to search for a specific ride is to book the first time that pops up for the attraction you want. When you then go to modify the time, that attraction will appear at the top of the list. This obviously only works if a time appears, but most every ride has at least one time show up after a few refreshes.

So last night I was trying to get a Space pass to start around 7:45 to match with some friends who had booked before me. I scrolled down to Space, it was unavailable. Refreshed, scrolled down, saw for 10:30 and booked that. Then went to modify the time, and now Space is at the top of the list - no scrolling necessary. I tend to book increasingly earlier times (1030->9, 9->8:45, etc) because it makes me feel like Im making progress, but it's not really necessary
