Speaking of room locations, has anyone ever stayed in one of the handicapped rooms? Is their location convenient and with a decent view? Thanks so much.:D

I'm specifically wondering about the courtyard view rooms.

Thanks again.

Not the entire North Wing, just the 6th floor. And yes, it is the entire 6th floor both woods view and courtyard view. I am sensitive to smoke and I usually would ask for the South Wing or floors 4 and below on the North Wing. :D Reminder though, if you do ask for a Courtyard view in the South Wing, remember to say "inner courtyard" or else you might get a view of the Villas and not the pool, gyser, and waterfall. ::yes::

I was afraid you were going to say the entire 6th floor north wing.

We have a suite booked on the 7th floor and I'm worried about sitting out by the smoke on coming up from the 6th floor. Don't laugh, I'm just really bothered by smoke and have bad luck. The balcony for our suite is pretty close to some of the 6th floor inner courtyard rooms.

I would never laugh about that. You are entitled to how you feel and I know how you feel. If I am around smoking, I get very congested and lost my breath. Hoping things work out for you. Pixie Dust to you.:D

NOTE: My 2004 passporter shows floors 3 & 5 South Wing as Smoking Floors, at The WL. ** Have received from a reliable source that this information from PassPorter is outdated. :earsboy:

Accessible Rooms for special needs- Most are located on the 1st floor-Villa side. There are also some on the North wing 1st floor. There is 1 located on the 6th floor(lobby room above Whispering Canyon).
All accessible rooms at WL are King beds, so if your party is larger than 2, a second room is added at no additional charge(if booked through the special needs department...and guaranteed to connect).
*Seeing eye/service dogs can be accomodated in any of the rooms, but depend on the person's abilities as to whether or not they need a handicap accessible room specifically.

I think that the passporter is outdated. The South Wing 3rd and 5th floors used to be smoking, but as of May 2003, the WL changed it to the 6th floor North Wing. I had asked a CM about why they changed it and she said that people were asking for smoking rooms with views of the castle. But I was there not too long ago and the 6th floor is still smoking. We stayed on the 5th floor South Wing and it was definitely non-smoking. Every door had those little signs on them.

It is funny about the passporter, though. I just got the Unofficial Guide to Disney World and it was also outdated in some aspects. One saying Rivercountry is reopening after rehab and also that Artist Point still had a character breakfast. I am going to email the author. Even the 2003 guide book was more updated. I think we have more information about Disney then these guide books.

Hope this helps.

dizneykid,

Thanks for the information, I originally showed the 3rd and 5th floor being smoking in my 2003 PassPorter...then I remembered I had received the new 2004 so I also checked there...had the same information.

I haven't stayed in a smoking room for so long I just didn't remember so was going by information the book gave, I didn't want anyone to request a South Wing expecting non-smoking room then they get one. With so many non-smoking rooms avl I think that should be requested, but we don't and can't controll what other guest do...A guest may request a non-smoking room, but may smoke on the balcony of the same room because it is outside. So floridafam could still end up by a smoker.

No problem, Magicinmyheart. I think it is great that we have this thread and we can discuss things and help each other out. ::yes::

Okay, I may have been thinking of the wrong wing all along.

The NORTH wing 6th floor is smoking?

The Yellowstone Suite is in the South wing, correct?

We happen to be non-smokers and the thought of sitting out on our balcony and smoke coming up at us from the 6th floor sounds gross.

We had a problem at a resort in Florida last year. We were in a non-smoking room and both rooms on the sides of us had smokers in them who would smoke on the balconies. We couldn't sit out there with our children and I became really upset.

Anyway, for some reason I was getting the north and south wings mixed up.

Pweing....I am sending some PD your way as well for a magical trip too....it's almost time!! YAY!!!:wizard: :wizard:

Lodgers....I have heard from our wacky weatherman! It seems some have inquired about the nature of his illness. He didn't want to gross anyone out (his words) so he didn't post the exact nature. I know many of you are all concerned. He has a two-fold problem which his medical team is working on boosting his system up in preparation for surgery in Feb. At this point he is hanging in there and trying to follow Dr.'s orders by resting as much as possible. I will keep you advised as I am updated. I know we will all be keeping him in our prayers and I'm sure you know one of the best things we can do for him is to keep our happy thread going and help when we can!

Have a great day everyone!!

This time tomorrow, I will be 2 hours from HOME!!!!!

*does the happy feet dance*

ps - I hope that Roy is getting his mail
