Wow! That was fun. Needed a fix. Here I am AT THE LODGE and I am answering questions AND enjoying it!
Anyway, here is a short trip report for today.
We started the day LATE. Slept in a few which was nice. Went down to Boma for an AWSOME buffet breakfast. Definately a must do when at the world. Try the pork and an everything omlette.
After that we went to Epcot and did all of innoventions plus Renee and I took turns and went into the single rider line for Test Track. First time for each of us. Loved it. Had a great time.
By this time Julia started to get cranky and we knew it was time for a nap. 10 minutes later and a few rocks back and forth, she was out cold. We set her up with a blanket and a small pillow that we made from a fleece sweater and rolled her around in the stroller we rented. Renee and I took advantage of this time to do the World Showcase the way we have always wanted to do. Nice and slow. In and out of the shops. It was great. Wow. So nice. Made a trade for a pin that I have never seen too. It is a locket that has a picture of Walt Disney in it that when you move it shows his older picture and his baby picture. Really cool. #77 of a limited edition. Nice find.
Around 4pm Julia woke up after a nice long 2 hour nap. We made our way to the monorail (did I mention this is the first time in a LONG time we didn't rent a car!!) and took it to the TTC then jumped the resort train to the Poly for dinner at Ohana.
As usual, the dinner there was awsome. They had this new sauce that was made with ginger and celantro and onions that was out of this world! Julia and I did the coconut races and also the hula contest. (No, I did NOT hula. Get the idea out of your heads...hehehehe!)
From there, the magic of the night. At around 7pm, we all made our way down to the docks for a view of Wishes from the Poly over the water. I copped a spot on the dock and sat down. My daughter came up and set right next to me. We covered her up with her all new Mickey Mouse fleece. When the fireworks started Julia asked, "Daddy, where is Tinkerbell?" and I told her that you can't see her but she is the one making all of the magic in the sky for you..." From that point on she kept repeating, "Daddy, look at what tinkerbell is doing for me....it's so beautifull..." in her best kiddy voice. Tears came to my eyes as I realized that a moment I will never forget just happened. They don't happen often folks.
Wishes is TRUELY magical. MUCH better than the older display. Absolutely amazing. I loved it.
We then jumped the boat to the lodge and saw a couple getting off of the Grand One (the huge yacht you can rent....) and headed on back to the lodge. Not before asking if they could give us a quick ride to the lodge on the Grand One.
Back at the hotel, I did a few shots to wind down in the concierge area. On our way back to the room, I was hanging out and talking with Miguel, Glen, and Andy (all CMs on the floor) when a family walked up to me and asked if I was Majestic. Wow. I was floored. It always amazes me when people walk up and say they know me. Heh. The handle they use is Chipmunk01. They also got an upgrade to a Junior Suite on the 3rd floor. They told me all about how they found my box today and were hoping it was replaced with the new one already so I showed them the new one as they were leaving tomorrow morning. We took pictures and called it a night.
Well, that's about it. More tomorrow!
Greetings to ALL from Wilderness Lodge!!! FC, keep that weather wand going....it's REALLY NICE down here!
