Hello everyone!

It's been quite some time since I've been here, and I have missed reading all your posts and keeping up with what everyone is doing. There has been A LOT of "stuff" going on here in my life, and suffice it to say that I could really use some prayers and pixie dust right about now, so if you feel inclined..........
I'll know more next week after I see yet another doctor in yet another town, and with the help of God, it will all turn out okay, and I can get back into the the WL frame of mind!

In the meantime, I hope that you are all doing fine. I miss you!

Don't know you...don't know your situation, but I prayed for you this morning. Seems like you have some buddies here. That would make me think you have been there for them. I always say...'the whole you pulled your brother out of...it where you can bury your own troubles'

Pixie Dust for you today! *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

And to think, I came online this morning a bit depressed because I saw there is rain for several days of our trip forecasted.

Liv2CDWorld leaves tomorrow.
I leave the next day and Shopgirl the next.

Queenie and Jay- maybe we'll run into y'all there! Fellow NYers!

Don't despair MaidMarion! We went the first week in December last year...and it rained EVERY day! One day (the day we toured AK) it rained ALL day! We went ahead and didn't change a thing about our touring plans. We put on our yellow Mickey Mouse ponchos and heading out...

The good news? We had a GREAT time! It's DISNEY!! The first part of December is great for light crowds, but rain makes it even better!! AK was practically deserted...and the animals didn't mind the rain. The safari was awesome.

True...all of our pictures have a lot of yellow (beware of the sea of yellow ponchos), but nothing ruined our fun. Albeit...if the rain is coming down at parade time...they might cancel it (and they will wait until the last minute  ) That happened to us once, but we 'hopped' over another afternoon and caught it. The also did an abbreviated bird show at AK and cancelled Illuminations one night...again we didn't 'miss' anything b/c we just came back to AK a drier afternoon (what an incredible show) and did Illuminations other nights. The also do close TestTrack in rain...probably a good idea!

We did head back one afternoon for dry clothes and once for socks. My one piece of advice would be to pack extra socks in a backpack or purse...especially if you have little ones. Dry socks can feel so good!

One more thing...If it is raining...DEFINATELY ride Kali River Rapids! We rode it three times in a row b/c noone was waiting. Of course...we only thought we were wet!! :boat: That was the afternoon trip for dry clothes :rotfl:

Here is extra PD for you to stay dry ~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Remeber the extra socks  Wish I was heading down with you!!!

Hi all,

Prayers and Pixie Dust to you Tig-Girl, remember God is good, don't give up on Him ever. He is with you always.

Well, my DH and I should be at the Wilderness Lodge by now, today was our day. But unfortunately we had to cancel this trip, due to unexpected expenses. Kind of depressed us at first, but we will just have to save better for next year. Sometimes when you look at the world around you, your problems seem insignificant. Cancelling this vacation isn't so bad, I just thank God for my family and friends (WL friends too) everyday. Knowing we have them is very significant. :D

Take care and God bless you all.

Thanks Magic for the information on the Tag Fairy :wave2:

Pick me...Pick me!!

Never Fear Maidmarion!!

Florida rains usually don't last...it looks like they are calling for rain on Sunday but they usher in some dry air after them!

Use that day to enjoy the Lodge and you can ALWAYS soak in the hot tub...the rain will keep you from getting too hot...then have a toddy at the fireplace!

And to think, I came online this morning a bit depressed because I saw there is rain for several days of our trip forecasted.

Don't worry...it RAINED most of the tiime we were at WL last Dec. and we didn't care, we jumped right into the pool and jacuzzi! People looked at us like we had 3 heads, but who cares...we were having fun!

Here's some photos from our honeymoon last year.

I'm still trying to upload the other photos.

Don’t despair, as Sunday is predicted a cold front will be coming through. Those rains are scattered and short duration.
Currently. Noon, it is 54, windy and clear. Freeze/Frost warnings for tonight in low laying areas. Sweatshirt or jacket feels good today, but temps will drop like a rock at sundown. A warming trend is to start tomorrow back to some highs in the 70’s.

Never be concerned with a forecast of five days or more as it changes even during the day. Several I have posted were off the mark by noon of the day I posted it. Keep in mind Florida can have frost in the panhandle and laying on South Beach in a Bikini to scuba diving down in the Keys. That is how diverse our weather is.

FL WEATHER 101
During the winter months fronts moving down from the mainland will mean cool to cold weather. Winds off the Atlantic will mean pleasant 67-70’s high. Winds from the Gulf will give us warm to hot highs, 70-85. All in a week or all in one day. It is not unusual to watch the wind shift 180 degrees several times during the day.

I am now including gloves and hats and drop light jacket for a warm jacket or sweaters in my packing suggestions.

Tig-girl - Sending lots of PD your way!!

Maidmarion & Shopgirl - I still have to TOTALLY pack. I'm officially in PANIC mode

FC - thanks again for the weather forcast and updating us on what to pack.

Everytime I look at my countdown, I have an anxioty attack!! 25 hours and counting :earseek:

or for Natives like me...Parkas, long johns, and heated socks!! LOL!!

Kate is getting excited..she has already put her gloves in her suitcase..she only gets to use them in Disney!

Isn't it great to have FC back!! He jumps right in with all kinds of great info!

Thanks to all who sent good wishes, prayers and pixie dust!
I appreciate it more than you know. I cried when I read all the posts. Thank you, thank you.

Live2C and everyone else I missed that is about to head to "The Lodge" -you have a safe trip and a wonderful time! I know there are a lot of us who would like to be tagging along right about now! I'm sure FC will see that the weather cooperates!:sunny:

Thanks for everyone's encouragement about the rain. I tend to be a bit of a baby about getting wet, but at Disney maybe I'll be too happy to notice. And I could never be unhappy in a jacuzzi, that's for sure!

Queenie, loved your photos! Got me excited all over again!

FloridaCat, thanks for the weather tips. I'm pretty hotblooded, but I bet I'll be needing my new, just-for-Disney-from-the-Union-Sq-Holiday-Fair hat!

pewing, the dry socks idea is great. How much are lockers in the parks?

Liv2CDWorld, get your behind moving, honey!;) (To be honest, though we had planned to start packing two nights ago, I haven't lifted a finger on that project either! I'll be right where you are tonight tomorrow night!)

Shopgirl, we're almost there!

Those going in the next few days, make sure you have a GREAT TIME! Bring back a bit of the Lodge for the rest of us who aren't going down....

Who knows...."MAYBE" :scratchin with a little PD, :wizard: I "MAY" know someone who may be going down "VERY" :hyper: soon if all works out.

Don't forget to do the box!

I want pics of the tree / lobby for my gallery.

Don't know about lockers. We usually have at least one large fanny pack (we are campers/hikers) or even sometimes a backpack. We like the backpack b/c it's pretty lightweight, but we can carry extra socks (and even underwear  ) and rain ponchos easily. Sometimes we even have an extra 'layer' like fleece or an extra shirt in case it gets cool.

What can I say...my brother was an Eagle Scout

"Wild, Wonderful, Wacky WL Weatherman":

Friday Mostly clear, current temp 45

Sunday Thunderstorms possible

To all headed this way, WOO HOO a greast big FloridaCat welcome.

When it comes to dry, gallon size zip locks work great to keep cell phones, camera's and whatever dry.

As far as rain goes, Look at it my way, At least we don't have to shovel it".

Tell Humphrey "hello" for me.

MAIDMARION,

That counter of yours is looking good! :hyper: :hyper: We'll see you at the Lodge real soon, have a safe flight/drive!!!
