My question is this: TBK (The Birthday King ) wants to take a break in the afternoon and head back to WL to ride mouseboats. What kind of time will that take (leaving MK...taking the boat to WL...riding MouseBoats...boat back to MK)?

Pewing-

What a great 8th birthday!!! I'd take that kind of day for my birthday any year!!

When DD (6 1/2) and I were at WL in Oct, we often took an afternoon break. It was nice to take a break from the constant activities and people at what ever park we were at.

The easiest was going back and forth between the MK and WL because of the boat.

One day we had breakfast at Cindrella's Round Table so we arrived at the park at 8:15, had breakfast, did rides and then headed back to the WL around 1. I would plan on at least 30 minutes for the transportation. The boat ride is about 15 min (if it goes first to FW) but if you just missed it, you might have to wait 10-15 minutes for the next boat. They don't depart on a set schedule (like on the hour) but just come regularly.

Mouse rentals are by the 1/2 hour- plan for 45 minutes at least to sign in, get life vests etc. We were there in Oct and never had to wait for a Water Mouse. I don't know what time of year you are going but that might be a consideration.

Then plan at least 45 minutes for transport back to the MK as well as walking time from gate to LTT. I think one evening it did take us 45 minutes from WL dock to LTT. Partly because we just missed an earlier boat and then our boat went to FW then to MK. Sometimes they are just coming from FW enroute to MK so that saves about 10 minutes.

Long winded- sorry- so to recap- roughly plan 30 minutes to go from MK dock to WL dock (could be quicker depending on when you get the boat and if it goes to FW first or WL first); say 1 hour if you are doing a 30 minute Mouse Rental (maybe 90 minutes if you are doing an hour Mouse Rental) and then 45 minutes from WL dock to LTT. I would say the above is done at a leisurely pace but doesn't take into account if you are going back to your room, stopping for snacks at Roaring Forks, going for a dip in the pool etc.

Hope that helps!

Have fun

OK all you DIS board WL Vets- how do you get a quote from somebody elses question imbedded into your responses???

As you can see from the above, I managed to figure out how to bold but how do you insert a bolded quote???

Thanks for the help!

I read in an earlier post about lime green mickey heads at Home Depot. Can someone explain what these are and if they are found at any Home Depot??

These are really paint swatches. You would find them in the paint section of any Home Depot. Home Depot has a line of Disney paints so all the colors on swatches are Mickey Heads.

I should say you normally can find them at Home Depot- unless a fellow Dis member has cleaned them out already! ;)

Have a great trip!

Thanks FC! I learned a new Dis board skill!

Hope everybody is having a great day!

Thanks for the info.
Looks like I need to take a trip to my local Home Depot :moped:
I am so anxious to hit the road. Even though we have been to Disney too many times to count, I feel like this is my first time all over again :goodvibes I guess its just the excitement of staying somewhere new and doing things we have never done. Like the decorations and MVMCP.

Can't Wait:jumping1:

Thanks for all your input. It really is valuable when I am making WDW plans. What would I do without you all?

 What an awful thought!

I just picked up some yesterday...I got "sonic boom" because I thought it looked more "DIS" than "alien green".

I am going to make a name tag for me with my DIS name printed across it and then laminated it! Weee...

Go to he bottom right hand side of your quote/response/question and click on quote. The message you want to answer will come up on the screen. Start your message at the bottom of the original quote. Hope this helps.:wave2:

:D :D :D I just wanted to thank you guys for keeping this thread going. IMHO the Lodge is the closest thing to Heaven on earth. Gee but what I wouldn't give to be there this December. I am still recouperating from my total knee replacement and would have a rough go getting around..plus I have been told there is not a singel room the dates I could get there. Someone please send pictures of the tree.......Next year I shall be there............:earsgirl:

Okay, I have idea and it involves 2 and 3 of your options. DO make a card that explains the surprise and is lovey-dovey and heartfelt and all that. Go to the Brown Derby and walk in, then say you have to use the ladies room and hand him the card. Let him stand there reading how much you love him, how much fun you're going to have together on the trip, then at the bottom what the surprise is, and return to see the excitement!

OR . . . and this might take some planning, maybe you could get the server or host/ess to bring him the card while you're gone. "Mr Dixenykid, we have a message for you!"

Surprises are so much fun! I have BIG surprise for my partner when we go . . .I am very excited! (More on that later . . .)

Shopgirl and Liv2CDWorld- we have some hot-looking countdowns!:earseek:

Oh, and by the way, people who find 70 degrees is chilly- you worry me! Are you eating? maidmarion, who finds cold to be 50ish, is concerned.:p

maidmarion,

that is a great idea, i got chills just thinking of doing that. it is something my dh would do. i am definitely doing the card and i do think i will wait until we get to the restaurant and hand it to him then. if i can get a cm to do it, i will try.

thanks to all you helped. i can't wait, coming soon. :D

I'm baaacckk...

I haven't had a chance to catch up with all the reading, jeez I have about 15 pages to catch up on.

Any ways, I just wanted to say hello... :wave2:

I'll be posting trip reports probably this weekend. But here's the short version...

OMG the Lodge is gorgeous!!!! WOW! We had a standard room over the lobby. The view from the balcony wasn't all that great but we loved walking out to the lobby. I woke up early one night to find the WL elves decorating for christmas. I took tons of pictures and hope they turn out. I don't have a digital so I made sure and got doubles made to send off to majestic. I can't think of a better way to spend my birthday! My DS9 & I celebrated my 30th at Chef Mickeys it was great!

Maybe I'm wrong and it was the weather!!
