Another Great spot we discovered to watch the Electric Parade without the bugs was the big balcony off the hallway on 5th floor between South and North wing (above the lobby at the pool end).

Like FC said, 5032 is a great view of FW and Castle, but I'm sure those other rooms are good too. I was told it was better to ask for a view or other amenity in your room request rather than a specific room, but I'm sure the more experienced WL Vets will have better info on that.

I went to game 2 ( I think??) against the Minnesota Twins. The Yankees one of course (4-1) and the streets afterwards were NUTS! Taking the D train was like a party in itself.

Of course, getting home at 2:30am and getting up at 6am for work nearly killed me. It's tough for someone from Jersey to go Yankee Stadium during the work week.

I can be sure of ONE THING for you....you will DEFINATELY be able to appreciate the peace and quiet at the lodge! Take advantage of a few quiet nights at the hot tub if you can. Last time we were there in September I went down while everyone was asleep. It was around 2am. If you go to my photo gallery you will see the pictures I took that night. I sat in the hot tub and relaxed for about 20 minutes while I stared at the bear. The moment was priceless for me because there was nobody else around. Just me. It was like the whole place was mine. Hard to explain the feeling.

I cant wait to be at WL. The weather reports sound so nice.

So tell me, is room 5032 the room of choice for the Ottor Pond and a nice view of the castle.

This time next week, Ill be last minute packing..I have an 8am flight out of JFK Sat morn and Ill be in Orlando by 10:30AM.. WOW! If all goes well, I should be hitting the Lodge by 11:30 ( I hope).

Whew, just walked in the door from a 5 hour ride back from Virginia. One of the best ball games I have seen all year.

Haven't made any changes to our trip yet, but once I get settled in, I'll go back to work on it. Oh and speaking of work, I had a second interview with a company Friday before I left. Please pray that it went well. Thanks!!

This thead is so great as we are 7 weeks out from our first visit to the WL!! We have a courtyard view and just can not decide if and where to request to be. We are thinking we might really like the lobby rooms. Am I right that you can get courtyard lobby and is this a good choice?? i am just so thrilled to be here for our pre-Christmas trip that we will be happy even if we have to sleep IN the lobby. Thanks to all the great people for this thread!!!!

Here is some info on courtyard rooms that was posted by one our WL VETS!

Courtyard View Rooms: Courtyard view rooms can be
located on top of the lobby, down the
South Corridor facing either the falls/pool
or facing the Villas, on the North side overlooking
falls/pool or at the end of the hallways facing
towards the Lake. For best views of the Electric
Pageant, request 4th floor Southside.

Due to all the wonderful things stated about the WL, we have increased our stay in December from 4 to 6 nights. We called this past week to see if we could check in 1 day early on the AP rate, but they said they were all booked up. However they did have a room available at that rate if we wanted to check in 2 days early. We took it (Courtyard view $156 per including taxes). I asked the CM to include on my ressie a inner courtyard view and non-smoking. I want to thank everyone for helping us spend the extra money. This will be our first stay at the WL (sister stayed before and loved it) We spend our first 4 nights at the ASMusic.

I also read that if you have a lobby room, that at Christmas time, when your door is opened, you could hear the Christmas Carolers singing (I think they do this every night starting November 28th) in the lobby by the tree. Plus everytime you open your door you will see that beautiful tree.

Just wanted to see my countdown timer and also say that my wife and I finally told our two DD's that we are going to WDW.

We were shopping yesterday in a mall that has a Disney store. My wife and I figured we should finally tell them. So...we took them to the Disney store and stood them right next to Mickey's face that's at the stores entrance on the floor. We showed them the Mickey face and asked them if they would like to see Mickey in person.

I know it was a little corny to do it that way, but to see the look on their faces was great. Needless to say the the questions by them have already started....

How long are we staying there????

Last November I picked up my DD early from pre-school and had the car packed and ready to go...Didn't tell her that we were going to DW...After driving for an hour, she was getting cranky and wanted to know why we were not home yet...

dd: (sulking in her seat) Mommy, when are we gonna be hoooome(whiny)
DM: I thought you would like to go to DW...Do you want to go?
DD: Noooooo.....wha??? DW??? Oh YEAH!!!!

She sat up and was Miss Chatty Kathy the rest of the way...LOVE THAT SURPRISE!!
