Fred, Glad to have you back!

Ratpack, I am actually anxious for YOUR trip! I am very curious about the Poly. If it stinks, I'll have to consider and rebook WL!:D
Most people love the Poly, but have not heard reviews from die hard WL fans!

Oh boy what a dream..Well, hands down for the WL Yosemite Suite.

I was at the Princess Dinner last week at 1900 Park Fare..It was so much fun and the food was great. They have improved on their desserts.

I have two pics of myself with Prince Charming. And, he was charming to say the least. WOW, the women were all melting. I have a pic of him kissing my hand and Im swooning, LOL..and the other is where he allows you to take his arm. Cant forget Cinderella, she looked just like her. What great pictures. I will have to post them.

My WL pics are fab..I cant wait to show you all the otter in his famous pond.

In case you are not aware Majestic has our very own WL photo site. You can e-mail the pics to himto add to the site. There is a link on his Siggie.

I stayed at the Poly in 2001...They were construcing the new pool at the time, but we went in Feb..too cold for this Floridan to swim.. I REALLY liked the rooms...BIG! I was in Aotearoa..3rd floor just on the right, past the elevator...Great view of the Lagoon!! My DD was 2 at the time, so after I put her to bed, I sat on my balcony (only 1st and 3rd have them) and drank cocktails and enjoyed watching the people from the Luau go by....The bathroom is an "all in one" kind, not like the WL where the sinks are apart...The lobby is abit dated, but it was kinda like being in the Brady's go to Hawaii episode...LOL...
I would stay again if I got another fab rate...but, the WL is now my home!
Bets:bounce:

:wave2: Hi all!

Fred - Glad to see you back.

FC - boy your weather reports are great! It's in the 30's here, so my DS and I are really looking forward to Florida.

I also wanted to thank everyone on this thread. The last couple of days, I've been doing last minute packing and planning. I feel like I have learned so much from all of you.
Thank you.

I need help trying to decide whether or not to use valet parking or just let my husband drop me and the kids off at the front and him walk all the way back up the hill. Can anyone offer suggestions or "do's and don'ts" of valet parking. We have never done it but after our stay at AKL and experienced that long walk in the rain, I vowed to try it next time. Can someone explain to me exactly how it will work when we arrive.
By the way, I am under 30 days:jumping1:

Ga Girl,
The walk from lobby to self parking is not that long! I have stayed at WL 3 times and have always self parked without a long walk! Any walk in the rain would seem long!LOL! We are usually always in a hurry and hate to wait for valet to get our car for us!

Thanks, but the credit goes to the Founder and Keeper of the thread. It was her infinate wisdom to continue to improve WL FAQ, and a direct threating command, that brought it about. LOL

Please do keep a eye on it as we are returning to the summer pattern. You may consider packing your rain gear. I will be posting in more detail unitl this system in the Gulf moves out. Hurricane spoters flew out today to take a look at it and that report will be in tonight's news.

Welcome to the world of magic and please remember to tweak the beak of Huphrey the Bear. If you have not done so please read page one and two for some very important WL information. We don't like our Newbies wandering around looking like they are lost. LOL

Lately, it seems that room location and requests have been the most sought out info. So here goes...a condensed version in honor of 999Ghosts... who helped make the original thread ssooo successful!
Updated10/20/03

Standard Rooms:
Woods View Rooms:
Courtyard View Rooms:
Deluxe Rooms:

Concierge Rooms:
HoneyMoon Suites-

*If anyone reads a mistake or knows of changes, please PM me...so accurate info is available! Thanks

Maybe someone will address a category of rooms that is, somehow, ommitted from this, otherwise comprehensive, list. I, for one, would really like to be able to get an idea of where the rooms are that I can stay in.....How about it? Can I get a view, too? What are the options for someone in a wheelchair or ECV, or with a Service Dog? :listen:

Video Gal, sorry some rooms were overlooked! My info comes strictly from an inside source and somehow, I didn't get that info! FC and I will do our best to include more information ASAP!

This is my second post on these boards (first one was just a minute ago), though I've been reading with interest since I booked my trip in February. We're taking our kids for the first time and staying at the Wilderness Lodge. We leave in 8 days, will be there for my son's 7th birthday, and I can't wait! I want to request a nice room but I am a bit overwhelmed with all the room info. We have booked a ps for Whispering Forks for our first night, Mickey's Backyard BBQ for my son's bday, and a breakfast with Mary Poppins at the the Grand Floridian for our one-day break from the parks (my daughter is a big fan of Mary's). I'm considering trying to do a Fantasmic dinner package, but haven't yet decided. Anyhoo, I'm excited by all the wonderful Disney news posted here!

KSM

Welcome to Dis, and glad you decided to post. We here on this thread all love the WL and know that your family will have a magical vacation. Be sure to ask any question you might want to know. Do you know about our Memory Box ? How long will you be staying? Be sure to check our Wild Wonderful WL Weatherman reports presented by FloridaCat just before your trip.

:wizard: PIXIE DUST :wizard:

Have a GREAT trip.
P.S. Besure to give us a report after your return.

Normally the first room decision is which “view” you prefer. AT WL it is Standard, Woodsview, Inner Courtyard and outer Courtyard. So I have to assume you have that booked, so if you share that information we can offer better advice on a room request.

Other interests your children would enjoy is at FW Campground. There is Trails End Buffet which is very good and reasonable, a Petting Zoo, and a favorite of many of us is the nightly Campfire. You can purchase Smore fixings from the Chuckwagon and fix them over the open campfire. Then there is a sing-a-long with Chip n Dale Characters and a free Disney outdoor movie.

Fantasmic is a must see and if there is more then one showing the day you plan to be at MGM, then there is no need for the dinner package, unless that is your preference. The second showing is normally not as crowded and plenty of seats available.

On page 2, Wilderness Layout, you will find a link on faxing your requests including the fax number.

Anything else, just fire away.

Video Gal, I just made some additions! Thanks for being a catalsyt for a much needed update!::yes::

Magic, yes I saw your Irish clap. Can you do a Tiger roar this weekend. Oh, and I got a package today, an FSU Game helmet.:bounce:

AC,
I too am anxiously awaiting our trip. I'll give a run down on the Poly when I return. I just hope it doesn't spoil me to where I don't stay at WL anymore. Ooo, bad thoughts, bad thoughts go away!

The new job is going well. I have a huge office now. One with four walls, ceiling and a DOOR! No more cubical. Everything really worked out well for me. Left my old job and started the new one the next business day. Even walked out of the old job with 2 months of pay for a severance. NOW, what can I do with 2 months of free pay????? HMMMMMMMM!

RatPack,

You will love the Poly. for years I would stay two or three times a year there...Then I stayed at WL and loved it, the next trip I even returned to the Poly, I had a great visit but knew WL was now my new favorite. You need to check-out Tambu (lounge) they have this drink called.... Lapu Lapu - Myers rum and tropical juices served in a pineapple and topped with Bacardi 151 $9.99...WOW
is it good. Yummy, I just decided where to watch Wishes from next week.....
Not sure if I can find a Tiger roar...let me think about that one.
Was that "snail mail" from Betsy the Game helmet? Does it have any Tomahawks (how many)?

GO NOLES...

KSM - welcome to the DIS from a fellow Massachusetts resident!! We have done Mickey's BBQ twice now and love it!!! I'm sure you'll have a great trip!!!

"Wild, Wonderful, Wacky WL Weatherman":

NOTE: The is a depression in the Gulf, no threat of serious weather, but it pushed our cood dry air out and brought in hot moist air. What this means is we are back in the summer pattern which is hot muggy days and afternoon T Showers. If your trip brings you down within the next few days, pack your rain gear. Monitor the WWWWW as it can be fickle this time of year and I do not want to mislead you.

Wednesday Partly cloudy, 50% chance of showers
LOW 72 HIGH 85

Thursday Partly cloudy 50% chance of showers
LOW 72 HIGH 85

Accessible Rooms for special needs- Most are located on the 1st floor-Villa side. There are also some on the North wing 1st floor. There is 1 located on the 6th floor(lobby room above Whispering Canyon).
All accessible rooms at WL are King beds, so if your party is larger than 2, a second room is added at no additional charge(if booked through the special needs department...and guaranteed to connect).
* All smoking rooms are located on the South Wing on the 6th
floor(but this could have changed)

WOW, THAT WAS FAST! THANK YOU! :sunny:

Can you tell me if the one accessible room on the 6th floor is a non-smoking room? I am guessing that it would be the only possible "view" room, too, as the rest are on the first floor....?

As soon as I dig up a layout of the WL I'll see exactly where Whispering Canyon is again.....

I've always wanted to stay at WL in WDW after my one-night stay at Sequoia in DLP...... Now that I have more info.....

:Pinkbounc

I'll help AspiringCindy out here. The 6th floor lobby woud be non-smoking. Go to page 2, Wilderness Layout and there is a link to the WL MAP,this will help you see how the resort lays. WC is on your left as you enter the lobby, so that in most likly a Woodsview room.

"WOW, THAT WAS FAST! THANK YOU!"
Well we laugh and joke around here, but when there is work to be done, we don't mess around. LOL Enjoy the Magic at the Lodge
