Like seriously....when is enough, enough? Casey Anthony

I've got to be honest I don't know but I hope not. MJ was not normal...I mean wealth, fame, talent and the ghosts that go along with it, but his case was not imo anything different than so many "legal" drug users due to their fame and wealth. Bad medicine yes, murder I just do'n't think so. MJ cash cow to this fool, it was a tragic mistake and his fame doens't change that fact for me.

Again, jmo.

I do hope Dr. Murray is convicted on the stiffest charge possible. Why? Because no matter how much money MJ dangled in front of him to practice beyond questionable medicine, it was HIS responsibility as a physician to say, "I don't give a damn what kind of money you offer, what you are asking me to do is not what a responsible doctor would do and could very well end up killing you. I won't have any part of it.". And then he should have walked away. He wasn't some buddy of MJ's or a paid companion even. He was physician and he is held to a higher standard. First, do no harm. He did a lot of things that were likely to cause the ultimate harm.....death.

Sure, MJ would have probably kept doctor shopping or drug shopping until he met an untimely death. Good chance of that. But Dr. Murray did not have to be the instrument of death. He could gave refused the money and walked away. I'll bet others did. But the money was worth gambling with another human being's life and that is unforgivable for a doctor. I'd say it is downright criminal.

This case needs to send a message to other medical professionals that they should not be tempted to leave their ethics, good sense and morals at the door when money is waved under their noses, especially in life or death situations. Dr. Murray gives doctors a bad name.

I think part of it is that the media wants to be "on scene" if someone attempts to kill her. Or if someone succeeds in doing it.

Agree with another poster, I'm SO sick of "tot mom". I did try to watch Nancy Grace one night for info about the trial, but she must have used that phrase a million times.

It's in poor taste to make a joke, but I mean no disrespect towards little Caylee, only Casey. Nancy saying "tot mom" would make a good drinking game.

We all are pretty darn sure she did it, but it's over now. People need to let it go. Like I said before, she can yell it from the middle of Times Square that she killed Caylee and there is not a darn thing anyone can do about it.

Exactly. We're "pretty sure" she did it, but there was never any proof that she did. They don't even know how that poor little girl died for certain. Maybe she killed her, maybe she didn't and it was a tragic accident due to negligence. But people need to let it go.

Instead of protesting and getting their 15 minutes of fame, which I think is all their doing, how about starting some sort of foundation for unwed mothers who need guidance and education? Or abused children? You never hear someone protesting this say, "I've adopted 4 children who came from abusive homes and that's why I'm here." As horrible as it sounds, they can't help Caylee now. Help the children who are still here.

how about starting some sort of foundation for unwed mothers who need guidance and education?

This is just as offensive as the "rescue kids from broken homes" comment the OP made. Just because you're an unwed mother doesn't mean you're uneducated :headache:

And even if it wasn't... do you know how much money is needed to start a foundation?? The people protesting think they're making their voices heard. And we don't know that they don't volunteer somewhere else.

I'm sure people who don't spend time on message boards could say the say thing about us. It's not up to us to determine how people should be spending their time.

EEK. Let me clarify that QUICKLY. I don't mean unwed mother=uneducated. I'm a single Mother myself, and I'm working full-time and going to school. It's HARD. And if my DD wasn't old enough to stay on her own for a few hours, it would be even harder.

I meant young single moms who are having a hard time. They need help with daycare, and some just don't know how to be a parent.

And I do know how hard it is to start a foundation, and how much money it takes. But if all the people that have been protesting and have inserted themselves into this trial gave even $5, it would and could make a difference. Just because it's hard, doesn't mean something couldn't be done.

Ahhh gotcha. I'm sorry I misunderstood :flower3:

I guess my thing is... assuming that the people who are protesting aren't doing anything but protesting is unfair. Personally, I don't get it and I wouldn't be doing it. But there's a reason they felt compelled to do so and I don't feel that it's my place to say their time would be better spent doing something else. Sure, some of them might just be looking to get their faces on TV or whatever but this case has touched a lot of people for whatever reason.

During the trial, I felt that people had forgotten that a little girl had died and that this wasn't just a way to pass the time like you would watching CSI.. After the verdict, that shifted and now it feels like people are truly grieving over a lost life and the sadness that this little girl didn't get any justice.

As for the news coverage... well, I think the problem is that there isn't a whole lot else to cover right now on the stations that lean towards that type of thing. I'm surprised it was being discussed on a station that was going to be showing a baseball game, but as far as HLN... they will stop covering it when the demand goes away.

I don't know when enough is enough, but I hope it's soon. The only problem is, whatever new story the media latches on to will be just as meaningless and obsessive. There's so much opportunity lost the way most media outlets cover the scandal of the day. How many times have there been stories which could be used to highlight a larger trend and educate people how they can personally help correct a wrong (volunteering in their community, prevention and education resources, donating to a cause, etc).

I don't agree with the protests, but at least these people are doing something about it, rather than just being armchair quarterbacks (or psychologists, CSI experts, whatever).

No, the mothers never reported the children as deceased. They were discovered by police as deceased. Most in the home, shortly after they were killed. In one case, the newborn's body was found buried, and linked to the mom.

Interesting! Thanks for filling in the blanks on that one. Were the police called to the home for some other reason and then they discovered the kids? I'm going to guess the mothers admitted to the killings and didn't blame it on a mysterious nanny?

Let's face it ... Casey will be news until she's spotted. Then it'll die down. She'll be news again when she accepts a billion dollars for an interview, movie, or book deal. Then it'll die down. She'll be news when the book/movie/interview comes out. Then it'll die down again. She'll make news if she messes anything up (ie: shoplifting, stealing checks/credit cards/money, is spotted drunk post-partying, gets in a car accident, gets into a public fight, etc).

I am NOT wishing that any of those things happen, so please don't misconstrue that.

:thumbsup2

Makes me wonder if that is just a FL thing though...we have had CA shoved down our throats for 4yrs now
4 years? Was Casey in the news before the murder?
It can be said this is the same category as those who voractiously consume/defend political unrest, the Superbowl, American Idol, global warming, Netflix opinions, pro/con vaccines for children & whether resuable mugs are allowed at WDW. ;)

Various people have different passions/interests. :confused3
:thumbsup2
They are even replaying the trial. All of it. :confused3

Wondering when they will be done with this story.
I couldn't believe all the replaying of the trial. I can't stand re-watching any of it. I think I'm done with trials for a while, although they always fascinated me. This one just left a bad taste in my mouth. Couldn't even watch Legally Blonde yesterday! I do still like to hear Casey Jordan's take on things; I think she's extremely intelligent, knowledgeable, perceptive, and not into the drama.
I get news on the internet, so I don't get the same feeling as others here have gotten, that this is the only news story out there.
Me too. :thumbsup2
Isn't this like an oxymoron? I am so tired of the Casey Anthony case I think I'll start a new thread about it? :rotfl:
 Same with people who have their say on a thread, and in the same post call for the thread to be closed...now that they're done having their say. :confused3

I agree, on everything. I do wonder tho...they've mentioned that Casey could get lost and unrecognized in a big city, like NYC, and DS will be going to college in NYC...if we don't know where she is by end of August, I'm going to send a picture of her with him, with a circle and a line through it. ;) Not that MY son would be into any party scenes. (OK...even I laughed at that one.)

Not to everyone. I couldn't care less if she accepts money or if she's found or whatever. I'm sure that I'm not the only one.

I don't care if the news channels report about this since there is the interest from some people. Couldn't HLN actually report about some other things too though? I understand that the federal budget is in trouble and we still have troops overseas and the heat wave might be deadly and so on.

I'm sitting here waiting on the baseball game to come on and "of course" the media has to cover the Casey Anthony story all over again.

This time they are attempt to find out where she is. ***? Are you serious? WHY WOULD ANYONE CARE? And to make matters worse, there were people who showed up to the jail at 12am WITH THEIR KIDS to protest. Like, what type of life do you have if you're doing that? How obsessed can someone be with another person's life to delicate so much time and effort to showing up to a jail to see someone get released?

Bottom line...she walked! Get over it. Its not the first time it ever happened in the judicial system and it damn sure won't be the last.
I'm so tired of hearing about this woman. There are much more important things to expose your children to beside this crap. And that damn Nancy Grace is the WORST! She needs to sit down somewhere and be happy some people are swallow enough to tune in to her pointless show. Enough of this! Please.

I couldn't agree more! I hope she slips away quietly to live a peaceful life and we never hear anything else about her.

I'm sick of Nancy Grace and her stupid 'Tot Mom'. No one uses it but her - doesn't she realize by now that her dumb phrase hasn't caught on?

I couldn't agree more! What happened is awful! But is protesting and harrasing her going to get her to confess? And even she does nothing can be done to her. Are people out there that stupid to stalk her and send her death threats? I realize that she did or did not do (I wasn't there, I don't know if she did or didn't, it was proven she didn't so my opionion doesn't really matter, who am I to judge her? I can't walk on water, and neither can you), something awful, horrible that no child should have to go through or anyone for that matter. But I am not risking my life or the possibilty of going to jail by threatening her or anything like that. She is just not worth it.

Good point. And how much are we hearing that Osama Bin Laden had another attack planned on the US for 9/11/11? Does that not warrant significant coverage. Just because he's dead doesn't mean it still couldn't happen.

For every one person who doesn't care, there are probably 10x that who are interested.

I know that I'm not alone in saying that I don't care that Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez are getting a divorce but there are people who do care because it's still making news.

First, let me say I come from a family with a dark sense of humor, so if you don't....you won't get this.

Two of my female relatives married godawful losers. Just a waste of breath, both of them. The kind of men that make decent men ashamed. One was an abusive, racist, substance abuser who knew every which way to sponge off the government. He was one of those who showed her one face/personality before they married and pretty much the day after the wedding, his true colors came out. She was a lot younger and never saw it coming. She got away from him after a few years, but a lot of damage had been done and he used their children to torment her for years.

The other guy was at least employed, but was also abusive, just in a different way. Then he left her high and dry with a houseful of kids, (in a house that was about to be foreclosed on, which was news to her) no money, and went out of his way to never support those kids. Most of his effort went to turn them against their mother, who was the only one actually putting food in their mouths. As I said, losers, the both of them.

While these two were still married to my relatives, the only time I really had to see them was a Christmas and I always dreaded it. I used to joke to my DH that I would say a little prayer that night that Santa's sleigh would land slap dab right on top of the two of them and put the whole family out of our misery. The relatives divorced the guys, but my joke didn't stop. Every Christmas, I'd remark to DH that maybe this year, if Santa heard my plea, his sleigh would go off course, land on those two, and my Christmas wish would be granted.

And then one of them died. Pretty young too. Then the other had an illness that....well, I can't go into detail, but he's only barely alive and will never cause anyone any trouble again. Before you judge me harshly, his drug use brought it on and it's a wonder he didn't take someone else with him. Both of them died/as good as died very close in time.

So Christmas rolled around and DH asked me what I was going to do that year, since those two were off my worry list. I told him no one else was torturing any friends or family members, so I was good to go and had nothing to ask for on my list. I'm thinking it's time to add CA to the "please let Santa's sleigh land right on top of her" category. It's been a long time since I made a wish list.........

Not going to protest, watch HLN, read about CA, or spend vast amounts of time on her. But a Christmas wish takes very little effort on my part. And it's up to the sleigh itself to decide what to do.......;)

KC got run over by a reindeer....

Works for me
