Anybody have suggestions for a digital camera, w/lots of bells and whistles that would be lightweight enough to carry day and night through the parks?

Thanks so much,

We just bought a new camera (I think a Cannon sure shot) that takes video etc...It's nice and small but with kick. I don't fully understand mega-pixal speak...but my DH who is an expert on such things says it's great. We got an older model cheaper because we wanted to buy our own batteries rather than use the manufacturer's rechargables (I can't remember to plug my cell in and I use that every day).

However, I still love my Pentax Optio. Can't do video but it's water resistant to like 25 feet underwater...great for theme parks and other kid related occations. It's small, easy to download and idiot proof when taking the pictures.

Of course, within a couple of weeks of buying our new camera, I also won a camera as part of our United Way drive. It was a really expensive docking camera, but I haven't even used it yet...too many bells and whistles, no time to learn them.

Check out the Sony Cyber-Shots

They're really thin, but some pack up to 8x optical zoom. 4x is the minimum I'd ever get, especially for site seeing sort of pics.

I Have An Olympus Stylus....lightweight, Lots Of Bells And Whistles! Absolutely Love It. Still Don't Know How To Use All The Bells And Whistles...but I'll Learn In Time...not Of Course In Time For My Next Trip...2 Days Away.....can't Wait!

Not Only Do I Get To Dis, But I Get To See My Daughter Who Work There!!!!!!

Last month I took my Canon SD500, 7MP digital camera. It is very compact and I love it! I took about 150 or more photos per day, of course it was a special Magical Gathering trip. My grandkids first trip to WDW (ages 2 & 4).

Thank you for your replies. I've been looking at reviews of these online. Fun to peruse.
Happy almost Halloween to you.

Buying a camera is a very personal item, so make sure you try one out before you buy to ensure you like the way it feels and operates.

I would also recommend you stick with the manufacturers who have established themselves in making high quality 35mm cameras...their also leading the way with digital cameras in quality, functions, and reliability too.
