Lights! Motor! Asian?--Feb 2010 Part II. 11/6-Pix, part 2. Page 199.

Wendy - I'm so sorry your dad is not doing well. It is good news that he made it through the night and I will pray that he continues to get better. I've lost both of my parents this past year and I know what a horribly gut wrenching time it is.

Great news that your cousin is feeling better!

Still here, still praying. I am reminded of Eccl. for your family. Comfort and peace to you all! Your missionary friend in a country far, far away. But close in spirit. ;)

Derek and Wendy,

I am so sorry you two and Jordan, are being hit so hard by life right now. Just know that I am praying for you and your family. I know how hard this must be for Wendy I lost both my parents at a very young age and know that this will be one of the hardest things in her life to overcome. But I trust that you will be there to love and support her and help her get through this.

May god bless you and keep, make his face shine upon you, and give you peace. :littleangel:
Wendy (yes I'm another Wendy)
Wendy & Derek,
I will keep your dad and family in my prayers.
:flower3:
Thanks everyone for your love and support. :thumbsup2

I forgot to mention that my father's condition is potentially life threatening since it seems that the sepsis (bacteria in the blood) due to the blockage of his urine/stool is building up bacteria leading to potential septic shock which can turn off his organs. He went through a similar incident in 2002 following surgery to remove his bladder due to cancer. Fortunately, he survived, but we thought we were going to lose him at the time since his blood pressure was super low and had to be supported by life support. This time around, he's much older, has only his single kidney, has lung problems, had more cancer, may have internal bleeding, may need to have colon surgery, etc., etc. Thus, even if his diverticulitis (inflammation in the abdomen) heals, he has a long road ahead of him.

On a brighter note, I'm proud of Erin to say yesterday, Wendy cut off more than 10" of her hair to donate to Locks of Love (hair donation for kids lose their hair due to cancer) which she wanted to do for a long time. :thumbsup2 Besides minor hair trimming, she has never had her hair cut since she was born seven years ago! I'll miss her beautiful long hair but think she looks cute with her shorter hair.

Here's some "Before" and "After" shots and photos of Erin at the hair stylist getting her hair dyed and cleaned up. Also, here's Dylan with a pigtail:

I'm so sorry life is so trying right now. I will continue to pray for you and your family.

Love the pictures you posted of Erin and Dylan. Brave girl to give up her hair, and yes she does look cute with her new do. Ponytail on Dylan is cute too.

What a wonderful thing Erin did! She looks adorable. Her hair is so beautiful, long or shorter.

Wow! Congrats to Erin on cutting her hair and donating it. :) I think it takes a special little kid to do something like that. Kudos to her!

Hey. Just checking in with my daily/weekly :hug:.

Derek and Wendy, my thoughts and prayers are out to you for your father as well.

Uncle D. Jay and Aunt Cherie are proud of Erin donating her hair to Locks of Love. What a great thing to do. Now Erin can know that another child has hair because of her sacrifice. Looks like her mom and dad are teaching her great values at a young age.

Prayers for your family. What a great thing for Erin to do, she looks so cute!
Thanks for the prayers and comments on Erin. I think she's cute either way, but I'm biased as her dad!:confused3

Yeah, I'm still in shock that Erin went ahead and gave up her hair but she seems really happy about donating it to others (and the kids at school thought her short hair looked "cool").:cheer2:

The "rock star" is staying with us tonight but I'll see if I can encourage him to leave the comfort of our couch (can anyone say "COACH POTATO") popcorn::and watching CMT :happytv: to moving to the Mac to post :surfweb:. Maybe I'll have to move the laptop to him to ease his "pain".:rotfl:

Thanks Uncle DJay for the vote of confidence on the virtues of her parents....I'd like to think it's the wonderful influence of her extended family (well, maybe not one particular uncle....not you of course).:rolleyes1

But Erin has her good days and bad, I guess we caught her on a good day:rotfl:

Derek and Wendy your family is in my prayers !!! Jordan here is your daily:hug:

Erin Miss Rosie says :thumbsup2 for donating your hair !! It is better to give than to receive:worship:

Had a bit of a scare today !!!!! Kyle walked smack into a store door that hadn't closed all the way and got a nasty bump on his head !! This was at 7:30 am well with an icepack and tylenol he went to school and Judy told them what had happened !! They called around noon and said he was feeling nauseous !!:scared1: He ended up in the ER for several hours, but they said he was okay and sent him home !!! He is gonna have a heck of a bruise on his forehead though!!!

Chapter 28. Hodgepodge.

So....here's the laundry list of stuff that's been going on the last few weeks:

Putting my resume together. I am not sure at this point whether I'd return to my position at church in 6 months. No one who I know out here seems to think that would be a good idea, but you never know. However, I am pulling the cobwebs off the old resume and updating it. I am looking into restaurant mgmt again. I found myself missing it alot over the last few years.

Getting temporary work. I used to clean houses for a living (I love cleaning). So it was easy to get on the horn and drum up a little business. I have 4 regular clients lined up already. I could easily do this for awhile if I needed to. Plus, it would allow me the flexibility to continue my recovery and healing process.

Looking into treatment/recovery programs. Dang it if recovery programs aren't expensive. Trying to find one that fits my needs and is affordable has been tough. However, today I found one online that's 15 minutes from my house. I am waiting for my "team" of people from church to verify that it's a reputable organization and maybe I'll go for it.

Struggling to make it through each day. It hasn't been easy. The last 2 years at church has burned me out and really sent me back to old ways. Ways that i thought were long gone. It is discouraging to know that I've not gotten past the past and for crying out loud, I'm 48! I'm not getting any younger. I thank you all for your continuing support and prayer. Please continue praying for me as this last week was especially difficult.

Dealing with family illness. I'm sure most of you have already read Derek's update, but Wendy's dad is in critical condition and in the hospital. He has cancer, but had some sort of infection in his intestines and went sepsis. His one remaining kidney failed and he also had internal bleeding. It didn't look good, but he seems to be out of the woods for now. He is on dialysys and it seems to be cleaning the fluid out of his body/lungs etc. It's been tough on the family. My mom has been taking it hard as Wendy's dad is her baby brother.

Learning life lessons. Did you know you can eat a meal for under 3.00? Del Taco- a burrito and 3 tacos!!!! So you now know what my diet has been and what smells are emanating from my posterior regions.

Anyways...I will try to get an update up within the next few days, but am not making any promises...

Love to all of you!!!!!!!!

Lots to mull on there, Jordan. Looks like it's a topsy-turvy, up and down sort of road. Life is dicey, but the One who gives it to us, never leaves alone in it. That's a promise. :goodvibes

If you need some comic relief in between, there are plenty of yucks (as in laughs, not left over burritos) over at the "Officer's Club" (aka my thread). ;)

Hang in there, Jordan! And don't let Trip Report updates add to your stress! We will be here when you're ready!:lovestruc

OOPS My brain wanted Dylan and my fingers typed Derek. I meant the little guy but you would look cute too.

Jordan - glad to see you working through everything. If everyone around you thinks going back to the church may not be the best idea, they may right.
This may be the time to be a little selfish on your part and find something that gives you what you need without demanding you give more to get it.

Right now if cleaning houses give you that - great- you get the satisfaction of seeing your efforts recognized and none of dust mind being told where to go and what to do.

I think you are doing a great thing right now and I know you will find the answers you are seeking.

I think we are our own worst critics! Please don't get discouraged, the fact that you have brought this to light and want to seek help is a hugh step forward. Take one day at a time you'll get there. :goodvibes

This is awesome! :woohoo: You should be proud to have such a sweet caring little girl.
