Light show coming to AK

I was just wondering if anyone knows what this is going to be like? Is it fireworks? Do you sit in an outside stadium and watch strobe lights from the ground? Just trying to figure out if this is even something we would find interesting. Does it have to do with animals?

Water, fire, projections. Animal themed. No fireworks so close to all the animals in the park. Concept art can be seen here.

Rivers of Light is a seated outdoor show over the water, rumored to be three shows a night. It revolves around nature and animals and does not incorporate characters (think Illuminations). There are no fireworks because they scare the animals.

It looks like it will be amazing!

How is that going to work with the park hours? On 4/29 we planned on going, but if the park closes at 6 p.m. as is posted now, it would seem that people would be standing around for a couple of hours waiting for the show. Seems to me they have to move back the park closing.

Not at all unheard of for them to change closing hours to later times even much closer to the date. My guess is they are waiting to make sure that it will open on schedule before announcing later hours rather than put them out and then retract them because "Oops! It's not ready for show yet!"

Agreed.
The Rivers of Light show must take place in total darkness (like Fantasmic!) so know that when they do begin performances that DAK hours will be updated and should closely mirror the closing times of DHS.
