Hey y'all I'm new to this forum, I've posted a couple things on here but not much. I just have a couple questions about the lifeguard role. I was recently hired to be a shallow water lifeguard at a resort, does that mean I will only be watching the kiddie pool or is there a certain depth that can go up to? Also since I'm a part timer I have friday, saturday, and sunday availability. Does Disney do lifeguard training on those days? Thanks

There are only three locations at Disney World where there is deep water. Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach, and the Yacht and Beach club resort. I was a guard at Yacht and beach. You will be lifeguarding the main pool at the resort it just wont be any deeper than 5 feet.

For the training, are you asking if Ellis does its certification on fri, sat, and sun?

I've only been lifeguarding a week, but can answer some of em.

Shalllow guards can go up to 5ft, so no, there are some resort pools that are 3-5 ft. you will most likely be guarding. Most are pretty good size, so shouldn't be a kiddie pool size. I actually did my lifeguard training Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I know they do it during the week too. So getting it on the weekend should be possible.

jeenyus720-thank you and yeah I was asking about the training through Ellis, and thank you Fewski for the info. Greatly appreciated guys!
