OK, this has been a BAAAAAD year for the old Jones family, and we need a little lovin'. My Mom, Myself and my gorgeous/extremely feisty 3 year old daughterprincess: are planning a GIRLS ONLY getaway for Feb 3-7. I started at the very smart, very FUN, very in my budget ASMo (have stayed at POP and Sports), then upgraded to POFQ - OH, it's so quaint, so nice (etc, etc) - and I just LOOOOOVE the jump up to the moderates, BUT doesn't the WL look so inviting for a cold winter's morn? And I sooooo deserve this, I just worked some overtime, didn't I? You only live once, right. So I booked it. I am walking tall, after all, I have a ressie at WL - which is really quite clever of me, as very oppinionated DD will want to be at MK more than anywhere else, and it will be so convenient to get to our BBB reservations. I am a genius. But wait, isn't the POLY soooo cool? Since I am throwing caution to the wind, let's just do it up!!! Now, I have stayed at all values except movies, all the mods, Yacht Club and Dolphin, but NEVER ON THE MONORAIL!!!!!! Wheeeeeeee! And I have always wanted to stay at the Poly and go to breakfast at Kona cafe - right outside my door. But SO MANY people love the WL, I would feel kind of funny giving up my ressie. So, my very long winded question is........:cheer2: Which one - WL or Poly?

Thanks for your help:dance3:

My personal opinion.....Poly!!!! There is no other resort like it!!! Ahh.....

That's what I've heard! Both resorts seem to have gobs of repeat and true followers, but the Poly has the piped in music, the views, the lobby entertainment. I don't know - I've just always been enamored with it. Not that I am complaining about ressies at WL!!!!;) OH, the big decisions in life....

I've stayed at both and I really love the Poly but, with a 3yr old in Feb I might pick WL instead. The reason you ask? WL is self contained the only time you have to go outside is for the bus or boat. At the Poly you must walk around in the cold to get anything as there are no services in the longhouse unless you stay club level. If it were May I'd go with Poly but in Feb WL is the way to go. hope this helps, either way I'm sure you'll have a great trip and if you do pick the poly make sure to ask for samoa longhouse, it's the most convienent to everything!

Your 3 y.o. might love the AKL with all the animals there.

Better price than the Poly.

Poly is nice, but there is nothing like the sitting by the fire in a huge rocking chair at the WL. This would be nice since you are going in Feb. They are right the WL is contained and the lobby is great. You can even go to a story time. My kids loved it last Jan.

Thanks everyone for the awesome input. It'll be something I undoubtedly obsess over (in all the good ways) until the last minute. I'm thinking of becoming an AP so that I can come back in October and try the resort that I don't pick!!!!YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1: Whichever I end up with I'm sure I'll have an AWESOME time, and that's what I tell newbies - where you stay is a big decision, but hey, you're in WDW and wherever I stay, I've NEVER not had FUN!!!!!!!!!!
