Hi Alison! I am behind on your TR, I read the last update (but missed a couple I think, darn holidays!) but I don't think I actually posted! Your Dylan is just the cutest thing ever.
It is a miracle, what my FIL has been through and we just seem to be surrounded by miracles lately. Hope is so very important, as is faith. Your young family member will be in our prayers.
That's so funny, I was trying to remember who was the volleyball person and couldn't! It seems to be a little bit less intense than soccer so far but we will see. The juggling is ridiculous though and I just worry she is spread too thin which really isn't good for anyone. That said if it ends up that she loves VB more, I'm all for it. Jeff and I both feel she just doesn't have the passion for soccer you need to take it further at the level she is at. Skill only takes you so far, you need to play from the heart and it's just not consistently there. Of course the hormones and distractions of being 13 only take you so far. So we will see.
I LOVE the game. I enjoy soccer but LOVE VB. And I would have killed to have her serve at that age.

very happy to have you here!

Belive me, I know all about 13 year olds! Todd coaches the freshman girls during the high school season, and the 18 year olds for club. Quite a wide range of emotional states between those 2 groups. The freshman are all usually very young and sweet, then they get boy crazy very quickly. It would be kinda funny if there wasn't so much effort spent on the drama!
Thank you for your prayers for my cousin. He has a form of ALS or Lou Gehrig's (sp?) disease that they have not quite been able to diagnose. It has been going on for years and he has a wonderfully positive attitude about it. It is just hard to see someone so young (who has young children) going through something like that. Some days it is very overwhelming and it just happens that I got an update on him right before I read your post about your FIL. It really encouraged me and I appreciate that.
