Life’s too short...to never sleep in a treehouse! 8/27 TR is up! Link in siggie

My guess is "yeah", but I've been wrong before (once). :rotfl2:

Catch you in the morning...

We will see! He hasn't taken it yet but I'll post when he does.

Your Halloween party looks like so much fun! It makes me want to throw a Halloween party next year!

I'm sorry you are having so much drama with the soccer schedule. It must be so tough to navigate all of that.

Sadly it is par for the course. We actually didn't know if K was going on the last trip until 6 weeks before and even then were worried something would happen. That was over middle school basketball of all things. It's really sad.

Ultimately it really isn't about soccer. For whatever reason his ex is truly bothered by K having a vacation with us. Normal life stuff, not so much, but the big memorable trips, she will always try to block. But just for K. Not T.

We worry about it a lot but we cannot control it. It just makes me sad that her whole life revolves around K. It isn't fair to either of them but she can't see it and emphatically does not feel that is what she is doing. If only she would date!

All we can do is try to and show another way. We do feel it is important that she know life does not revolve around her. And, at the end of the day if that means she misses out on this, then that is what it means. We resolved after last summer that we as a family wouldn't miss vacation again trying to work around things. We will do the best we can but if it doesn't work, it doesn't work. It doesn't make her less important but it also doesn't make her more important than the rest of the gang.

I have come up with 2 good back up plans though the planner in me would like it settled now!

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

& I agree the cupcakes look great....

Varsity for a Freshman is almost unheard of and an amazing amount of pressure...I agree she would probably have more fun the first year on JV...

I am so sorry that you are having these scheduling problems...ugggghhhh...
Family time should count for something too...

(BTW-I did the nerd test...and I'm smart enough to know not to share my scores...sheesshhh....

You must be the coolest of all! Please it's not like a good score is actually a good thing.....

I wish it was about FUN.

:sad1:

it should be.

50% of those scored higher
1% scored the same and
49% scored lower...

You know what I'm a proud nerd...nerds are generally smart, creative and inavative (but obviously some can't spell...:lmao:)

:rotfl:

I love it, you are actually perfectly balanced between nerd and non-nerd (aka hip).

87% more nerdy
1% same
12% less nerdy

And I'm Asian...I should be nerdier....math/science/tech...not my bag.

I'm looking at your Halloween pix and the only thing I'm thinking....what's in the coconut that Jeff's drinking...:rolleyes1

You are officially the coolest!

Rum and Coke

:woohoo:

I was just :rotfl: that he bought the coconut!

I didnt go back far enough!

I am NOT posting my nerdy score (mainly because I answered some of them for dh - :rolleyes1 like the IP address, knowing the languages, HP before 1990 - and I knew those people due to History - and my 6th grade teacher made us memorize the periodic table!! That I've been in a 6th grade class quite a bit :rolleyes1 - but I DID NOT see the woman's ears!! :rotfl2: )

ah well - lets just put it this way I am a dork!

I'm officially the dumbest:rotfl2:;)

HE bought it...how :rotfl2: is that? Well he got good use out of it.

Yeah apparently when he was taking Kendall to the billionth store to buy her costume (since she didn't know what she wanted) he picked up the coconut and the lei. Cracked me up!

Cheater! Still...post your score. I need some company! What's scary is if I'd have included Jeff's stuff I'd be even nerdier. Apparently he, by himself is not nearly the dork I am. To which he said HE ASSUMED I'D BE NERDIER!

:scared1:

Jeff's results

*49*% scored higher (more nerdy),
*1*% scored the same, and
*50*% scored lower (less nerdy).

*What does this mean? * Your nerdiness is:

Somewhat nerdy. I mean face it, you are nerdier than about half the test takers.

Well I'm back from round 2 and not nearly as drained as I was from the first one.

Somewhat of the opposite actually. I really really liked the guy today, polar opposite from the first person but in a good way. Not that she was bad...

He was very cerebral and as I'd been "warned" I expected to get grilled. Instead, I ended up grilling him. Which I got the distinct impression he rather liked, I don't think he's used to it (but I could be wrong of course). I have a feeling it will go one way or the other. Either I blew him away and he really liked me, or not at all. I don't think there is much middle ground for this guy. Which I rather like in a person.

We will see....

I took my test.....

Not sure if I want to post them caaaaause I'm thinking it shows really how dumb I am rather than being non-nerdy. :lmao:

95% scored higher (more nerdy)
1% scored the same and
4% scored lower (less nerdy)

non-nerdy, probably even cool. :confused3 Who knows, I see people on here who act way less nerd like than I would be in situations and they got nerd scores. ;)

I think nerd is subjective anyway! At least I hope it is as I am clearly more nerdy than I realized.

:lmao:

I'm glad it went well, at least in your eyes...:thumbsup2

I like that in a person too....I think....no maybe not...I can't decide...;)

Exactly!

I like people who know who they are. I like people who actually LIKE who they are.

I don't like close-mindedness or arrogance. I don't like deliberate ignorance.

And there is a difference.

Big.

HUGE.

Their internal HR person said I should hear from them tomorrow (she hoped) as to next steps.

sounds like a good organization so far. Their communication seems pretty good.

Loved the Halloween party! How fun you can call get together like that and have so much fun. My family is boring! Good luck with the job. Oh, and we love Who Song & Larry's! We usually end up next door at Joe's Crabshack, though.

My nerd score:

67% scored higher (more nerdy),
1% scored the same, and
32% scored lower (less nerdy).
What does this mean? Your nerdiness is:

Not nerdy, but definitely not hip.

Maybe the fact that I copied and pasted makes me a nerd :confused3 I think it makes me lazy! :goodvibes

I'm sorry about your mom, MaryAz. I didn't see that before anywhere.

Hi:wave2: It took me 2 days but I'm finally all caught up!! I was 10 pages behind. Whew...this thread does move quickly.;)

First of all, Love the Tink bag!!--and what a super cute shirt!!

Your Blustery day update......just wonderful!! What a poignant and heartfelt story....and so beautifully written.:goodvibes Thank you for sharing it.

Great Halloween pics!! We went to a Halloween party this year and spent so much time dressing up and the party well...it was just okay. Now, your party on the other hand looked like so much fun!!:thumbsup2

Hope you figure out the whole soccer thing. How frustrating, especially since everything seemed to be coming along so well.....

Beautiful binder pages....I can't say it enough...you're so talented!!

And, finally Good luck on the job!! I hope it works out for you.:)

whew!! I'm sure there was much more that I wanted to comment on but I can't remember it now......
:goodvibes

Agreed! Willful-minded ignorance is just wrong! Interesting that you were the one who came out on top in this interview. I'll check in the morning to see where this is going.... By then, it will be PM time for you. :goodvibes

No, not lazy. Efficient!

And yet. I am still the only one officially on the nerd totem pole. Sad. I'm having to re-evaluate my own nerdiness! Clearly I did not have a clear picture of myself.

:rotfl:

My family may be many things. Boring is absolutely not one of them!

I've actually never eaten at Joe's, isnt' that funny? I have the best memories of Who Song's. When I was younger, each of us kids would get to go to Portland for a weekend, alone to visit my aunt and uncle and grandma. My parents would stick us on a Greyhound bus and my aunt would pick us up in Portland. My goodness did I get some interesting seatmates!

Then my aunt and uncle would basically spoil each of us rotten for the weekend, everything revolving around what we wanted to do. With 4 kids in the house at the time, you didn't get much "star" time so they were pretty special weekends.

One of the traditions was Sunday brunch at Who Songs.

I'd never been there for dinner until this summer when we drove down for a tournament for K. It was SO yummy! I remembered the brunch as being divine (their Heuvo's Ranchero's especially) but I didn't recall the diversity that we saw on the menu, I was really expecting pretty basic mexican and I know the reviews are pretty mixed but I have to say, my dinner was outstanding! It was a pleasant surprise.

Hi Angie!!!

The party was a lot of fun. Very casual but good times for sure! We were invited to a big adult dress up one...didn't have the energy for that!

We've come up with a good back up plan for soccer, and if we need to implement it we will. Right now we are holding firm on the dates but I feel good (or as good as one can) about where things are at.

Thanks for all the kind words, I'm having a lot of fun with the binder and at actually putting thought into touring plans...

:goodvibes

We will see. Mildly surprised I didn't get a follow up email from the recruiter yesterday but then again I haven't sent my own dreaded follow up note yet. On the to-do list today...

I do think it's one of those things that could go one way or the other...

OOPS! How did I miss this? Sorry Ms. Cynthia....I guess I was so worried about posting nerd scores that I missed an important update! :upsidedow
I'm glad you felt things went well with the interview, but as you said I'm sure time will tell. :)
I'm hoping the company's expectations that you knew were unrealistic, were addressed and that you were able to convey your concerns about them.
I have a good rule of thumb when it comes to making decisions that effect my life in a big way....if I don't have peace about it, (especially after prayer about it) then I don't move on it. Period! That rule of thumb has never let me down.:)

boy have things changed...can you imagine putting your child on a greyhound bus alone?
