Does anyone else have this problem? Every time a co-worker's birthday comes along they serve cake. Well this one girl refuses to let anyone else cut the cake. That would be fine, but the when icing gets on her fingers she's licking it. That's between the slices! The only piece safe to eat is the first one. Gross. :crazy2:

Ugh. I have one particular coworker who does this. Every time we have cake I hope someone else cuts it. I refuse to eat cake she cut. It's gotten to be so common that she usually assumes I don't want any but has no idea why.

That's as bad as double-dipping. If I saw that I wouldn't be eating any cake and I would save myself the calories. :teeth:

At any buffet-type function with coworkers If I'm not first in line, I usually won't eat.

EEwww on the licking fingers. Perhaps some food service gloves are in order - keep a box in the office and whenever food is going to be served, get in the habit of having the wearer slip on a pair of gloves. OK, long shot, but it is an idea....

Have you eaten with my MIL, she is just so gross, I ate to eat with her at all anywhere!!!!! No table manners at all. None I'm telling ya. It's like sitting down to eat with horse, cow and pig all in one!

You met my dad? He will take a giant mouthfull of something, like say his steak.. then shove in some mashed potatoes while chewing.. THEN start drinking while it's all stil in his mouth.

Yuck...just like my FIL. He does the cooking, and the serving of the food, and he's always licking his fingers, right down to the base. :crazy2: He really did it A LOT a couple of years ago...last time we ate there...last time we will eat there.

My sister served ice cream cake for her birthday, and HANDED everyone their slice, so they all had finger indentations in them. :crazy2: DD's boyfriend won't go back to my mom's if my sister is there again...he got really grossed out...don't blame him.

My MIL's table manners are so bad that I actually don't eat when she's over. I make myself busy in the kitchen and just say I'm not hungry. I almost wish she lived with us then I'd be a size 2 ;) .

LOL Maybe you can rent her out as a new weight loss product.

This reminds of when I was in law school and went to Dunkin Donuts across the street for coffee. The woman was making one of those egg sandwich things and she took the egg thing off the plate without gloves and put it on the bagel and LICKED HER FINGERS and then took the other part of the bagel and pressed down with the FINGERS SHE JUST LICKED! I was horrified!

I never went back in there....

That's what I was going to suggest. Or, next time, offer to cut the cake as this person did it the last time.

This is just disgusting!! :earseek: And, are you sure it's safe to eat the first piece? Unless she washed her hands in front of all of you, I can only imagine where else her hands may have been. :earseek:

Reaching for the Mylanta... :crazy2:

Okay, this was a situation that made me nearly puke on the spot! Was invited over to a buddy's new house for dinner. His GF was in the kitchen cooking some kind of Spanish food that smelled incredible and I was STARVING! In fact, I had told my buddy how starved I was while we were walking into the kitchen. It was was sooo hot in there due to all the pots going and I noticed the GF perspiring heavily. As she stirred the main dish, I saw beads of sweat fall in the food!!!!!!! :earseek: Oh FM!!! I stumbled back and felt ill. I couldn't possibly eat this! It nearly killed me to "pretend" to suddenly have a stomach "flare up" and only eat salad and bread while watching them down that scrumptious smelling Spanish dish. :sad2: Sometimes people just don't think when preparing or serving others food.

I don't know if I would call some of my coworkers "friends." Although, I am glad now that I was just finger licking and not sweat. Yuck! That is disgusting!! Ummmm...sexy? The nicest way I can put it is no.
