Any suggestions where to stay for a family of 13 , flying In The night before the cruise
? Any hotels that might have a shuttle pick up from FLL airport to. Hotel ? Thank you .

Given how close the cruise port is to the airport, staying close to the airport is definitely a good option... and will save you quite a bit of $$$ vs staying at a beachfront property. If a shuttle is a must, the Homewood Suites Fort Lauderdale Airport/Cruiseport might be an option. Homewoods are family friendly and does offer some larger rooms such as a 2queen 1bedroom suite that can house up to 7 people (with the sofabed). The Home2Suites might be an even more interesting option as it is newer, has a shuttle to the airport (free) and offers a shuttle to the port (paid). The one thing with the H2S is that I find their bed a bit hard... but they're nice...some rooms sleep 6 people. Personally, my 1st choice is the Embassy Suites... but it is a paid shuttle to/from the airport.

All of the above offer complimentary breakfast.

We stayed at the Marriott Ft Lauderdale airport. New, clean, rooftop pool, walking distance to outdoor mall with dining and shopping. Free shuttle to airport.

They offer a paid shuttle to the port. We are a family of 4 so we just used Lyft.

I would absolutely use them again. I prefer the port proximity to the airport at Ft Lauderdale over Port Canaveral /MCO.

We stayed at the Embassy Suites with a large group. It was...fine. Breakfast prior to cruise was crowded. Rooms are spacious and can sleep 6 and though an older hotel it's had a recent facelift. Pool was again, fine. It got the job done. No airport shuttle and port shuttle charges a fee. We just used Uber/Lyft to get around.

This is our plan. We stayed there last cruise during the remodel and liked it, and will like it even more after the remodel. Even though they have a shuttle (small fee per person) to port, we still got our own transportation to allow for flexible timing based on our PAT.

We stayed at the Cambria (airport port) in Dania and really enjoyed it. We had a large group (for my son's wedding) and the lobby had a great sitting area in it with couches and a bar/restaurant. The night before the cruise we all hung out there. The price was very good for what we got. Loved the rooms! The pool was a basic pool but we didn't use that.

If I recall they have a free shuttle from the airport, but if you want a shuttle to the port there is a charge. It's about 6 miles from the port. I would stay there again for sure.

We are booked in at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina, from researching this hotel is a pickup point for DCL transport to the cruise port. Not 100% on that info as nothing has been released for 2026 per the DCL chat/ human I spoke with to pre book.

Private car/ bus service would be a good deal for your large group, we have done private service from MCO to various Disney resorts in Orlando with great success.

Please reassure me ( as always I always worried before a trip ) that hubby did the right thing with this hotel ?
First time from Fort Lauderdale ( all our previous were in port Canaveral
Days in by wind ham Oakland Fort Lauderdale airport anyone tried it ?
Are we far from cruise terminal ? A place to eat dinner not too far ?
Thanks for any input or feedback

It is 20-25 minutes from the cruise terminal.

We have stayed at both the Hyatt House and the Hyatt Place Fort Lauderdale Airport - South and Cruise Port. We gave the edge to Hyatt Place. They offer a free shuttle (that they share) from the airport to the hotel and a paid shuttle from the hotel to the cruise terminal. The first time we, we utilized the free airport shuttle - the second time, we just paid for an uber because we did not want to wait. We also used uber to get to the cruise terminal instead of the paid shuttle.

The hotels are across the street from each other in an area called Dania Pointe. Dania Pointe is like an outdoor mall area, so you have plenty of food options, a Sprouts grocery store and a movie theater within walking distance. There are also a bunch of other hotels in the area (we chose Hyatt because we had Hyatt points and it was free).

The airport, port and hotels are very close. The hotels cater to cruise guests with almost all the big hotels offering paid shuttles to the cruise terminal (a lot of them are large vans with a trailer attached to haul luggage). We also had no trouble getting Ubers - they do a brisk business when cruise ships are in port.

We have stayed at the Hyatt Place Fort Lauderdale Cruise Port & Convention Center twice and will stay there again later this month. It's very close to the port and a short drive from FLL. It doesn't offer airport transfers but they do offer shared shuttle service to the port for a fee. We'd prefer to go on our own schedule. It was less than $10 for Uber XL to the port in April.
What we like about this hotel is that they have a free breakfast and it's a short walk to a Publix. We like to carry on bottled water and this is very convenient. There's also an Italian restaurant and an Outback next door.
In April it looked pretty run down, which probably was more noticeable due to coming directly from a stay at the Marriott Tampa which was very clean and modern. I was glad to see they are remodeling and it's expected to be done in November. Pricing is reasonable by Ft. Lauderdale standards.

When we want an oceanfront stay, we love the Pelican Grand Beach Resort. It's much further north of the port but right on the ocean and it has a pool with a small lazy river and a lovely back porch with several rocking chairs that always puts me in a great mood instantly.

We stayed here as well. Hotel is fine. I think breakfast was the highlight. Room was big, but showing some wear (it was clean though, no problem there). We didn't use the pool. Ubers in FLL are weird. We had a driver cancel a ride because he didn't want to wait in line to pick us up at the Mai Kai (HIGHLY recommend the Mai Kai, but good luck getting 13 people in there together, book early), and we cancelled on another driver after waiting 20 minutes on a 10 minute estimate. Other cruisers on that sailing had similar Uber problems.
