What is the Difference?

What is the difference between Animal Kingdom Lodge and Animal Kingdom Villas/Jambo? Are they both at Jambo House? If I have a one-night reservation as AKL followed by a 3 night reservation at Villas, will they link the two so I don't have to move after the first night? (1st night is rack rate, next 3 nights are a BounceBack offer). I really want to stay at Jambo but it's pretty expensive, rack rate (and I already have a split trip, CSR/ASSp, planned for November... )

AKL has both standard hotel rooms and the Villas which are DVC timeshare units. They cannot link your reservations because these are two different room types. The DVC rooms are larger and equipped with kitchens and living room areas.

Just to add to @kanerf's great response above.

The original AKL is known as Jambo House. Now it houses a mix of regular resort guest rooms, and a mix of DVC Vacation (Studio, 1 BR, and 2 BR ) Villa units all in the same Building complex.

If you have a resort room for (1) night, and the a DVC room on your BounceBack (BB) offer for (3) nights you will need to switch rooms at Jambo House.

To add some complexity, there is also Kidani Village which is part of the AKL complex. It is located about 5-7 minutes away from Jambo House. Just make sure you don't pick anything in Kidani Village or you will have to move to a different complex.

Your best bet is to make sure that both your reservations are only at Jambo House. While you will still need to switch rooms, they will both be in the same Jambo House complex.
