My mom will be coming down to Disney to stay with us for a couple days on our vacation. Growing up, my parents and I always went to Liberty Tavern for lunch every trip (once or twice a year). I wanted to surprise my mom with a lunch there for old times sake, however I was wondering how this is for a 4 year old? (my son's age).

Thanks!

Jen

We just went in December with my 10 year old and my 2 year, and we had a fantastic dinner and the characters were great with my kids. We had the dinner, with the family style service. The food was outstanding and so was the service. I don't know if they have characters at lunch? I don't believe so. We had Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Chip and Dale dressed in Colonial wear.

Would highly recommend this restaurant.

We had lunch there on Monday and we didnt see any characters. I have a 2 yr old son and even though there was stuff on the menu for him, he snacked on the fruit loops I brought for him. I had that huge salad which was so good (Im pregnant so not much is appealing to me right now, but that hit the spot), and some orange sherbert/sprite/lemonade combo drink that was ok.

They only have the character meal at dinner. We went to dinner there in August and it was really good It is served family style . The meats are roast turkey, flank steak and roast pork. They have mashed potatos stuffin and mac and cheese. Lunch is an a la carte menu and from what i understnad it is also very good but there are no characters at that meal.

We went to the LTT when we were in disney October 04...My DS (a little over 2 yrs old at the time) LOVED the character interaction (we were there for dinner). He didn't TOUCH his food though. I can't imagine why...It was YUMMY...but he wanted a Hotdog from Casey's.

Thanks for the replies! I was actually thinking of going for lunch (without the charactors) and was wondering if their is a menu I can see online?

Thanks!

Jen

Pics from LTT. I have some cute ones of the girls with the characters, but it was before I went digital!! So you will have to settle for DH; and doesn't he look thrilled to death!!

We took DS, DS, DD 13 and an 11month old We ALL loved it. Even teh 11 mnth old ate alot of the food.

Good luck.

Actaully, it is a GREAT choice for lunch. We eat there every trip at least once....always at lunch.

They are great there (as has been my experience at every Disney restuarant) at accommodating kids and their sometimes picky appetites. My son was very picky as a younger child (now at 13 he eats everything in sight). I remember once for him we ordered the turkey ("and make sure the dressing isn't touching the turkey") and instead of mixed veggies he just wanted some raw carrots and please bring his mashed potatoes in a separate bowl (because he and his sister were swapping fries and mashed potatoes). They were like, "Of course, that is no problem, what ever you want!" :earboy2:

What makes it so nice is the atmosphere. It always seems like we go in there hot, hungry and tired. We are able to relax, it is cool and refreshing, not bright lighting (not dark, just not bright). We come out ready to go again.

They have good milkshakes, too!

Our 11 yr old doesn't care much for the Kids' offering nor the adult menu. So he gets the Fryed Cheese for his lunch. And the Vegetable Beef soup is very good, especially if it is cool outside. My favorite is the Pot Roast - Husband loves the Pilgrim's Feast.

LTT is great for kids! It's one of our favorite places. The characters are good, the food is wonderful & it's overall a fun time! 4 is a perfect age to take them too. I'm not sure if they do characters at lunch, but I know they have them at dinner. HTH

I agree. LTT is a great place for lunch, although I really do prefer it for dinner with the characters. Some of the other character meals I have felt rushed or like the characters were a little too much in my face. LTT was the perfect blend. PLUS my kids both ate the food and loved it. If your kids like mac n cheese, there's is great (stouffers or stouffer-like at least).
Even if just for the nostalgia moment, it'll be great. have fun reminiscing and making new memories!
