We have been to most character b/fast-lunch-dinners at WDW, but have never tried the Character Dinner at the Liberty Tree. We were talking about making a PS...anyone done the Liberty Tree for Character Dinner??? What did you think?

We did dinner at LTT on our last trip...and it was our favorite meal! The characters were great...the atmosphere at the tavern was wonderful...and the food was yummy. I couldn't get enough of that fabulous salad...or those delicious rolls!
This was our favorite Character meal so far...

We did this one and loved it. The interaction with characters was very good and the food was good also. It was served family style(all you can eat). Seems like whenever Chip and Dale are there I enjoy it.:p

It is our favorite dinner of all...and I say that every time someone starts a new post on it.
To us, it's the perfect Disney experience...very good food...excellent atmosphere. Don't miss it.

We enjoy this dinner too and have done it several times. The characters are Minnie, Goofy, Chip, Dale and Pluto all dressed in Revolutionary War costumes. Dinner is served family style and is all you can eat. It includes turkey, flank steak, pork chops (used to be ham, I think), mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, carrots, rolls, salad.

WE thoroughly enjoyed it there on our last trip.

Here is what it says on wdwig.com

I am also interested in reviews of LTT (in fact I posted a similar question a couple weeks ago, but got mixed reviews). Glad to see so many people like it, we are leaning toward eating dinner here, too, with our only other option being CP. Keep the reviews coming!;)

This was probably our least favorite of any of the character meals. It had nothing to do with the characters, which were great, but the food was very lackluster... tasting like Stouffers frozen entrees. Our server also gave the impression he would have rather have been anywhere by where he was, as well!

Hope you have a better experience!

Oh eeyore0062! :(

I hate that you didn't enjoy it! I agreee...the mac n' cheese was way too 'out of the box' for me ( I only eat the 'home made' variety ;) ), but everything else was very good to us. My boys especially loved it....

Jenn...when did you go? I didn't realize the ham is now pork chops! (We looooovvveee pork chops!) We went last May and it was ham...and that was just okay.
MrsMud, sorry you saw mixed reviews....again, to us, it's the ultimate Disney experience. (Sorry eeyore0062....maybe just an isolated bad experience.)
Again, the food is very solid...very good...certainly not spectacular. But first of all, you have to realize it's a restaurant in one of the parks....which generally don't have food as high quality as the resort restaurants. Sure....we could all name a whole list of resort restaurants with better food. But again, it's the Disney atmosphere and Disney experience coupled with very good food that makes this so high on our list.
Everyone is dressed in colonial garb...like a Revolutionary War pub. You give your name to the hostess and the state where you are from and when your table is ready, they call out "Hear Ye...Hear Ye...now seating the Jones Family of Pennsylvania"...or whatever!
We had dinner reservations at 4:05... had a full day of Magic Kingdom....and had just completed a ride on the Liberty Belle Riverboat directly across the restaurant when we were ready for dinner. So stepping into that tavern just put the finishing touches on a great and magical day! And on top of that, the characters were fabulous for our kids. If that's what you're looking for, then I don't think anything beats this!

I'm also one of the (few) dissenters. We ate there 2 years ago and I swear the turkey was turkey roll, which was a huge disappointment to this turkey lover. Other than that, the other food was good and I'd recommend it.

Put us in the "liked it" category--ate there in December, and everyone in the family enjoyed it--particularly the veggies. It's pretty straight-ahead American fare, but well prepared. The mac and cheese is Stouffers, but that's my Dad's fav anyway. The character interaction was great (better than 1900 Park Fare on the same trip). I was impressed at how much the characters conveyed without being able to talk--our 2yo DS had a great time (of course he also enjoyed repeatedly climbing the stairs and looking down from the balcony, so maybe he's not that hard to please).

We found our meals were like TV dinners with Disney service. The place was pretty and the characters were great fun for our kids, and us too, but I'd pass on the food. The macaroni and cheese tasted like it was right out of the aluminum foil box, and the ham and turkey were very dry. Out of all the Disney restaurants we've tried, this was our one disappointment.

Luvdvc, Stouffer's does sponsor it and you are right the macaroni and cheese is stouffer's frozen. But the day we went the turkey, ham and flank steak was WONDERFUL. Not dry at all. The salad with strawberry dressing, rolls, vegetables, dressing, potatoes and gravy was very good.

I would not have been very happy if the meat was dry. We had an early PS at 4:30 so maybe that is why our food was fresh.

cd&kids - we were there in August and had the chops. All previous times we had the ham. Both were good, IMHO.

This is what we are planning on doing. Eat a big breakfast at our resort early, then have an early dinner at the LTT. I think they said the dinner starts serving at 4:00pm. Our only concern was if the characters start at 4:00 also or if they wait until later to get going?

This happened to us at another character meal. Can't remember where exactly, only that it was supposed to be Pinocchio & others from that film, but we were either to early or too late for the characyers, can't remember now, but still there during the scheduled meal time.

Do they serve the same food for lunch as the have for the character dinner? We were thinking of going for lunch one day, and if the lunch is "iffy" we just might change and go to Cinderella's Royal Table.

Mickey Mom: No, the lunch is menu style, and the dinner is a fixed, family style. I have read that the lunch is very good, but we MUST have characters, so it's dinner for us;)

We eat most of our meals in the parks, not at the resorts, so comparing this with other WDW park meals, the quality was just not up to par. Sorry to disagree with others, but the food was just not impressive to anyone in our party of 6.
