It's been a while since we went to LTT and I was just wondering if it's still worth it now that there's no character dining experience? Price and food quality? Thanks in advance!

We never went before... Tried it for lunch in December. Thought it was ok and good but we weren't amazed by it... We like BOG for lunch better. But I know a lot of people rave about it still... But to us it was just ok.

Dinner might be better?

We book LTT at least once per trip, for the past 9 years or so. We are addicted to the Patriot's Platter / Pilgrims' Feast! :lmao:

Price and Quality are so personal.

I will say I like it MUCH better since the characters have been gone. When they were there is was too busy, too loud, too much pushing and it seemed the tables were inches apart. The servers always seemed stressed trying to bring out extra helpings while dodging characters and kids on the loose. Our meals since have been relaxing, quiet, the service very good and attentive and never felt like we were packed in. We enjoy the food (except the mac & cheese) but we always eat there on the Dining Plan, never OOP at dinner.

Went there last year for the first time in probably 20 years. Enjoyed it, but I wouldn't say its one of my "must go" places. I'd say give it a shot...

We like it for lunch. The entrees are reasonably priced and they serve the delicious Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake for lunch but not for dinner.

We do our food OOP.
We love Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch.
Nice A/C, place to sit down and the food is not bad priced.
Skip dessert and you will save money.

Save dessert for a Dole Whip later in the day.

What we like at LTT:
Angus Chuck Cheeseburger - topped with bacon and cheddar or mushrooms and provolone served with fresh fruit or tavern fries $13.99

The Liberty Boys BLT - slow roasted pork, fresh Greens and tomatoes on House-made Bread with caramelized shallots and mushroom-mayonnaise spread $13.99

Colony Salad Washington apples, sweet pecans and applewood smoked cheddar, dried cranberry Craisins, and grilled chicken tossed with field greens in honey shallot vinaigrette $14.49

DH drinks hot coffee (yes even on a hot day), DW has iced tea and DS & DD get cold milk. Drink bill is under $12.

So the prices are the same as some TS meals for better food, a nice table to sit at and the beloved A/C - plus a clean bathroom to use.

We really like it. It tasted very close to home made. And it's nice to see my DD eat something besides chicken tenders!

Yes.

Colony Salad...refreshing.
Pot roast...like none other and always superb!
And Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake...Yum!!

Totally agree - plus my kids drink MILK - not water or sugary drinks! :goodvibes

We enjoy LTT. We don't do it every trip - seems like every 4-5 years we visit. I agree with a PP that we actually liked it better without characters - food quality has been consistent between our visits. I wish the colonial characters met elsewhere in Liberty Square because I did think their costuming was cool, but the restaurant set up is just not very conducive to characters moving around.

Although we don't often do sit-down meals at MK, this is the one we would do. The food is much better than nearby counter service options without being much more expensive.

We went there last July for lunch after I noticed a storm moving in. We got to sit and enjoy a nice meal while it poured outside. Totally worth it!

Thank you all so much! I loved reading that the food is still great as it has been a long time. We will definitely consider giving it a try!

I like LTT for lunch. I haven't done dinner since they did away with the characters. I wasn't impressed with the quality of the food at dinner and saw no reason to go back once it was no longer a character meal.

I love the pot roast at lunch and DD will get the turkey. As the PP said, it's nice to see her eat something other than chicken tenders.

It depends.

I'm kind of take it or leave it.

Last trip there we had dinner at the Liberty Tree- the all you can eat family style turkey/pork/beef thing.

I personally find it horribly overpriced ($30-40 range per person if memory serves) to basically eat carved Old Country Buffet style carved meat, and mashed pototoes/stouffers mac n cheese, but my all-American plain jane eating parents who I could never get to eat Mexican/Japanese/Italian food love the place (I found myself wishing I was eating pretty much anywhere else in the Epcot world showcase instead). For me, my $40 spent could would have much happily gone to an outright exquisitte dinner at many other places in WDW.

I never did lunch there, at least they have an actual menu then where you can choose different things other than the "thanksgiving platter", so that might be more appealing if the dinner IMO, plus pricing would be more reasonable.

Still, all that said, its decent sit down dining in the Magic kingdom- where there isn't a ton of choices, so that counts for something too. Any moment spent in the MK is great to me. If thanksgiving dinner sounds right up your alley, you'll probably love the place.
