My favorite WDW meal is lunch at LTT. Our last MK day is Nov 17. LTT is scheduled to reopen Nov. 20. Does anyone know if restaurants do soft openings early and if so will there be adrs or just walk ups? TIA

I've read elsewhere on these boards that the LTT renovation is behind schedule. If that's the case, I wouldn't plan on the place opening earlier than the 20th.

1) The rehab IS behind schedule.
2) But, they have enough completed to do an opening for LTT, although not Skipper.
3) From Last week's Meeting,
. . . CM's were told to be ready to report on Nov-15 for re-training at LTT
. . . schedules come out this Saturday, so we should know for sure
. . . opening date is still scheduled for Nov-20
. . . there *should* be soft-opening hours during Training Week
. . . however, eatery soft-openings do not have ADR's or FP's
. . . soft-openings are usually only walk-ups
. . . and, as with all soft openings, hours are not announced and can open/close quickly

So if opening is the 20th when will adr for the "real opening" start? I know they let folks book for thanksgiving day but havent seen anybody that got a date that week Nov20- Nov 28... and from other posts looks like just Jan. so far. We are just about 2 weeks out from opening you would think even if it is delayed they would take reservations for the 21st on.

Also does that mean Skipper wont open before thanksgiving? Or wont be ready by the "mid dec" date floating around.
I was really hoping for Nov. 30 lunch at skipper.
Thanks again for giving the DIS what ever info you can! appreciate it.

Skippers definitely won't be open for thanksgiving; half of the servers only start the week before.

Have people been able to get an adr for dec? It's the only ressie I'm missing fir our upcoming xmas trip.

1) Yep.
2) Without trained staff, hard to open.
3) They are still planning for a Dec-20 hard-opening.
4) A soft-opening can happen any time they want to give things a try.
. . . soft openings are not announced
. . . they "just happen", and the day & hours are erratic
. . . example: open at 9:03am-10:17am
. . . they can open or close anytime things go right or things go wrong
. . . walk-ins only, with no ADR's or FP's

So basically when I am there on 11/17 I just walk over to LTT and see if the door is open? I'm also hoping to get lucky and get lunch during a soft opening :goodvibes

I'm guessing the CM's at my resort won't know the night before if I ask if the restaurant will be open for a soft opening?

Thanks for the helpful info!

My understanding is it was a kitchen remodel. LTT & the new Skipper Canteen will share the kitchen so I'm guessing they needed to expand & update equipment. I haven't heard that the restaurant itself got any kind of remodel, but just couldn't operate while the kitchen was down.

Rusty- have you heard any more news about LTT opening day? I have no idea why this has become a mission for me, but I am determined for some reason, to book lunch.

1) Some employees are on the schedule to report to work next week.
2) Still no "Official" word on soft or hard opening dates.

NOTE: It is nice to have the goal of an ADR at LTT, BoG or Skipper. But, they are not The Holy Grail. If it doesn't happen for you, just think about it for the next visit, so don't let it ruin or negatively influence your Disney Vacation.

Thank you- I too will be in the vicinity at lunch time on the 17th just in case.

Me too! That's my MK day and I don't have any ADRs planned for lunch. Am hoping to get lucky with LTT being open and if not grabbing QS somewhere!
