Liberty Tree Tavern or Crystal Palace for MNSSHP?

Suggestions seem to run strongly in favor of Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner before Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Can anybody tell me why, and would Crystal Palace be a bad alternative? We know that they are both character dinners. :)

We love them both.. Always had good food.. We even like Liberty dinner better then Pooh dinner.. But nothing beats Pooh for Breakfast..

We always do LTT for MNSSHP because you come outside and watch the parade

ETA: my breakfast statement sounds soooooo wrong.. and if it wasn't on a Disney related board... I'd be banned for Life
*giggles*

I didn't have the best experience at LTT for dinner, but I have never tried the Mickey's NSSHP.

I second the motion that the Crystal Palace was great for breakfast! Of course, I am a bit of a Pooh fan...

It's because LTT's characters wear eye masks or an apron that says Happy Halloween. Pluto wore a pumpkin on his head.

We've done both LTT and CP before parties and although LTT is festive, we much prefer CP (or Tony's) because we don't really like the food at LTT.

It could also be because LTT stays open through the party and when you buy your tickets you can book LTT at the same time (even if you haven't hit your 180 mark) and when you get your tickets in the mail, they mention eating at LTT in the letter that comes with the tickets.

It's always been very popular on party nights.

Hands down CP was the better experience !!!

LTT - Many tables in a tight space causing us to have to hear all conversations around us, characters trying to squeeze through and rushing the whole process, food was more like school cafeteria food and the mac/cheese inedible. Cute additions to characters costume for Halloween but only saw one CM with makeup. Server was nice but clearly overworked. Disappointed.

CP - Not crowded in at all, food was good for buffet, DS loved the boiled shrimp and certainly was a variety, characters were delightful and came by twice, loved watching the young ones do their parade, our server was so nice and we never felt rushed.

This year we are again doing two parties, one night will be CP and the other we decided to just do counter service before they close that night.

It really depends on the kind of food you like. We have eaten at both and I would rate them both as pretty good, but neither as great. If you like Thanksgiving food and if you like being served, eat at LTT because that is the food they serve. If you like a more traditional buffet, eat at CP.

Does anyone have pics of LTT dinner?

I just called and a CM told me that Tony's and Liberty were the only 2 sit downs open during MNSSHP but that I couldn't book them until after the tickets go on sale? I had thought it sounded like some people on here already had them but maybe I misunderstood - maybe their appts are for those days but not during party hours?!? Any way I have a ressie for Liberty another day but don't want to let that one go until I know I have it for the night of the party YKWIM? The CM was really pressing me to do that - first time that has happened. She REALLY wanted me to make a reservation to replace the other Liberty dinner.

We always eat prior to the party start time so that we don't waste precious party time. You can get in at 4 pm, and they book me for 4:30 or later to give us time to get to checkin podium. We finish us usually by 5:45...time to hit a couple rides before party starts. If you are booking before the party time you can go ahead and book.

LTT!

The atmosphere is more festive with the characters dressed in their halloween masks and aprons and we thought the food was good too.

Already have our 4:30 ressies for MNSSHP again this September, can't wait!

I keep trying to get a little later, since we have CRT at 1:20 (after BBB). If I can't get a 5:30, we'll just check in a little early for CRT, & get the pics out of the way (if we are allowed). Guess we'll have to do a lot of walking to work up our dinner appetite! Can't wait!
