We went to Liberty inn between shows of Slippery When Wet last night DH an I both got the BBQ Sandwich YUCK!!!!

I know this is not the best QS in all of Epcot but it was close an in the A/C

Buns was very dry an hard the meat on the BBQ an the sauce was dried out looked like it had been sitting for hours...The taste was not the best either tho not actually bad tho. Yet before DH was done with his drink I made a rush trip to ladies room where I lost my supper.

This was the only seriously dreadful meal we ever had at Disney. Lack lustre salad and dry bun, as you say and the most disorganized queue ever. I don't know what they did but the cashiers were ringing through the orders and then there was nowhere to stand to wait for yours because the rest of the people who hadn't recieved their food yet had been at the counter a good 10 minutes already. It became a joke between us and the people waiting around us about all the trays of drinks that were being knocked onto the floor. There were so many people trying to find somewhere to stand once they had paid for their order that they were forced into the exit lane, making it impossible for those who had receieved their food to get a clear path out. :sad2:

There are only a few Disney restaurants that we will not return to and Liberty Inn is high on that list. We ate there last March and said never again. I too agree that they need to rework the whole lines inside. Not so funny thing while we were eating (ate outside) there, there were EMTs that came running in the restaurant to tend to a woman who was laying on the floor. The woman was fine, but it makes me wonder if it was something she ate :confused3.

It is an absolute embarassment that amid all the other themed restaurants in Epcot that pay homage to their host countries, WDW has decided that the good ol' U. S. of A. should be represented by this reprehensible fast food wasteland. How about turning it into a Route 66 themed Road Food stand. It could be either sit down or counter service with seating. The menu wouldn't have to be all that different. It just has to be good. Up the ante by making hamburgers more like In-N-Out Burger. Real burgers, dogs, fries and shakes. Maybe it could include both a CS area and a sit down area that has a menu akin to 50's Prime Time, but instead of it being themed like a home kitchen, pull out all the stops and make it a classic Air Stream diner. Or soda joint like in American Graffiti or Happy Days. So many things that could be done to honor the iconic on-the-run road food that America made famous, instead of the plonk that they now serve.

Hopping off my soap box now.

Sounds like fun suggestions, though it might be tough to gracefully integrate such a theme with the colonial architecture of the building.

Then again, Disney doesn't have to redesign the restaurant in order to make the food taste good!

I have to second that. Why couldn't the do something ala the Land where inside there were a few different counters serving food from different parts of the good ol U.S.A.?

I actually never thought it was that bad lol. We always like the building, and the food is fairly standard stuff if your in a rush and what not. Believe me we are picky, the types that find it hard to find "true" Italian food outside the home, but for fast food I thought it was ok. If you want it to be great fast food, be prepared to pay....

Disney doesn't even serve real all beef hot dogs at Caseys. No way they'll do it here. Nor do I believe they will ever serve anything at a CS that looks or tastes like In N Out Burger.
