I am taking my DD8 to DL with a friend for DD's birthday. As a treat, I thought I would get the girls all dolled up at Libby Lu. I have never gone into the place because the music decibel level totally repels me. I swear it is a palpable wall of sound. Oh, and not good sound.

It is far more economical than the Fantsy Faire one. Do the hair styles stay in any length of time? Are the hair stylists fun for the kids? I guess I want to know, is it cheaper because it is awful, or is it a fun alternative?

Please give me your opinions!!!

My dd is 7 and loves it there. She loves to make her own lotions and body spray. We have one that is at a mall quite a distance from us. But dd gets to go there once or twice a year, because that mall has what is now the only Disney Store in our state. Mama must have her Disney Store!

I've never had dd's hair done there. It looks fun, but I always worry that they won't know what to do with my dd's hair, as she's biracial. I pride myself on her having nice-looking, healthy hair, and I won't pay some young girl to mess it up. I may break down sometime in the future and give it a try. Daphne loves Hannah Montana, so we could always do that makeover, and they wouldn't even have to mess with her hair. You just put a wig on her.

My DD loves Libby Lu. We have had a princess birthday last year for her there. Her hair stayed in for 2 days. The nice thing is the style she had comes with a hair piece that I could take off and put back on. I could redo her hair...not as nice as Libby Lu can do but she loved it.:lovestruc

Hi
My daughter loves LL..The one at Disneyland is her favorite..I think because she is so hyped up about Disney anyway..it kind of goes along with the whole feeling..(She also likes the BaB there more than any other..too..)
She will be having her birthday there this year...She is so excited about that...and.. has been talking about it for months..

I have an 8 yr old granddaughter. I have taken her to LL and she love it. We had her make and hair done.

We LOVE Libby Lu...have one locally and have been going there for years, but never skip at Disneyland. My girls are 10 and 7 and both of them love it. You really don't have to worry about them messing your daughter's hair up...all they use is hair tyes, bobby pins, and glittery spray (along w/ whatever accessory they pick)...everything washes out.

It's really fun for a day in the park...we usually buy princess dresses and do Libby Lu on a day they are wearing them when at Disneyland.

We're actually going to our local Libby Lu for Sharpay makeovers on Saturday before going to see High School Musical live in Seattle. :) Will be my 2 dds plus one of boyfriend's dds who is also 10.

There's a LibbyLu at DL? Can someone clue me in as to where? My DDs would love it!
Thanks

Until coming to these boards I'd never heard of Libby Lu:confused3 ...I'm sure we'll have to try it for my DD5. She loves having her hair done and dressing up, I was planning on doing PFF as wellprincess:...this is a special trip so we'll splurge on some things!!

My girls have really liked it over the years, though my oldest (now 12) lost interest about 2-3 years ago.

It's in DTD on the left side as you walk away from the parks. It is not all that far past the big DIsney Store. Aren't I great at giving directions? After I tell any friend how to go somewhere...they run to MapQuest it. Sadly, can't blame them!!!

If you look at their corporate website, you can reead about the packages offered. Girls can get their hair done up with extensions or like a princess. For extra$5, can get a Hannah Montana wig.

Thank you all for responding!! I think my DD turning 8 and her almost 10 year old friend will have fun!!! If I can only handle the life altering loudness of the place!!!:scared1:

Ahhh, Alderwood Mall, in Lynnwood, the Big Hair capital of WA! I grew up a mile from that mall, worked there as a teenager, and now I teach nearby.

My 3 girls were never interested in Libby Lu, and I was kind of glad, because some of the stuff is a little too... how shall I put it... glittery? trampy? for my tastes... I didn't really want my little girls dressed up like Britney, yanno? Princesses, ok, but leopard prints and high heels, no. But then, I'm so boring and stuffy I don't allow them to own Bratz dolls. I'm such a geek! And I'm raising little geeklets!:rotfl2:

Oh, I forgot to stress...the two girls are allowed to get their hair like a princess or they are not doing Libby Lu!!!! I figure we will do the Pooch Parlor Package (or some such name)...hair do, gllitter and a stuffed dog!!

We do not do sass or tramp in our household!!! I am SO with you on that one!!!

DD loved LL last Sept. She wanted to go again last month but I didn't take her, probably will for our early Dec. trip.

I've not been either...but if you check out the website, the Princess makeover looks pretty tame!!! I guess I will find out, likely doing it the 1st.

My girls did not really like it. It was just too loud and very hot in there, and their hairstyles were really pulled tight. They both asked me to take them to the bathroom mid meal (at Goofy's kitchen) to take the rubber bands and pins out because it was just too painful for them. I paid for the make over for both of them.

They were also not really use to all of the sparkly make up, and it just sort of bugged them.

If your kids are really sensitive to noise and heat, they may not like the Libby Lu in DTD. It is so loud it actually hurt my ears, and there is no air conditioning there.
