Levi and Bristol, shouldn't they get married?

I really didn't make it clear in my post, but what I meant to say is: I believe we are being LIED to. Levi and Bristol have NO INTENTION of getting married. I mean, if they were getting married, they would be married. What are they waiting for? The birth of the baby?

So you believe that they "owe" YOU a marriage because that is the stated intention. If, for some reason, they change their mind, should that notify YOU? Should they call MSNBC? Does Maureen Dowd need to know? Is it anyone's business? No, I didn't think so.

Marriage isn't going to change anything other than to cost them both a fortune if it doesn't work out. They should concentrate on being the best parents they can be to this baby and seeing how their relationship develops.

So you don't believe it could be for insurance purposes?? I don't know what you base your belief on that they are lying about having any intention of getting married, but then you're not really interested in what other people believe if that's what you think.

Of course, but that is the only way that Sarah Palin is going to keep voters' confidence in societies which value 'morality' above politics. I don't blame her either. I feel sorry for her daughter and her daughter's partner, though. Having your first baby is hard enough without being shoved into the limelight

It's none of our business, but if you look in photos taken at the VEEP announcement, Bristol has a ring on the ring finger of her left hand, so it is likely that she was engaged already. But the lefty blogs that accused her of being the mother of Sarah's baby forced them to reveal that Bristol was in fact pregnant making that claim impossible.

Well what could possibly stop such speculation?? Reporters went to the house of Levi's parents and his mom told them that nobody is pressuring her son into marriage, and that Bristol and Levi had discussed marriage even before the pregnancy. It won't matter though, because there will be some that just won't believe anything that any of the parties directly involved have to say.

If we had universal healthcare, that wouldn't really be an issue, would it? Then they'd have no qualms about getting married. That would just be yet another instance of the republican agenda ruining other people's chance for happiness.

If it is for insurance purposes that really is a sad, sad commentary on our health care system when the child of a sitting Governor has to postpone getting married in order to stay covered.

I don't deny she has backbone. It takes a lot of backbone, drive, and blind ambition to make your daughter suffer under the intense media spotlight of a presidential election when she is at a time of need. Backbone, Sarah Barracuda has plenty!

Since Bristol is only 17, can they be legally married? Since people in my position can't get married, I'm not up on what's required for the liscence.

That being said, I believe the Palins had said they were waiting until she graduated from High School. I'd still like to hear from Levi, who has stated that he doesn't want kids. Hopefully he'll stop with his "Bad-*** redneck" routine and be a good dad.
